This page lists the important
people I met on my odyssey.
Yoko Onosaki
Yoko
is my pen-pal from Tokyo. We became close friends on my trip to Tokyo, but
she left me in Beijing with Qi-Fu when it became obvious I would be spending
more time on the music video than with her.
Ayumi Hamasaki
Ayumi
is a very popular Japanese
pop star. I have a major role in her music video for the song "Unite".
I ended up traveling around the Pacific Rim because of this role; I went to the
French Polynesia to shoot it, and Sydney for press conferences and publicity.
Also, everyone
wanted to help me, as I was "that guy in the video".
Zhang Ziyi
Zhang
is a Chinese movie star who has been in movies such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The
Road Home. She shared a movie set with Ayumi and I on the island of
Tahiti. She gave me some acting tips, as if I needed them.
Selma Bjornsdottir-Bouleau
Selma
is an
Icelandic-French journalist who saved me from certain death in the Australian
Outback. She was sent to Asia to write a piece on travel to the Pacific because of her
French-speaking skills, which came in handy in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Qi-Fu
Qi-Fu
The Pug is a stray dog I found in Beijing while signing contracts. I gave him to Yoko,
thinking I would never see either of them again.
Carmen Sanchez
Carmen
is a movie
director from Chile. She was making the Spanish version of Lara Croft: Tomb
Raider when I was in Cambodia. I had a cameo role in the movie and helped speak to the
natives in French. In return, I got a ride on the plane she was taking home to
Chile.
Pablo Ferdinando
I met Pablo in Colombia. He owns a
coffee plantation, which I helped out at until I got a ride on his shipment
truck to Panama.
Jesus Flores
Jesus is the last person I encountered on my journey. I found him repairing
his yacht in Panama during his trip from Florida to Acapulco. I told him
my story, and he said I could ride with him to Mexico, since he had extra room
on his boat because his best friend decided not to go on the cruise at the last
minute.
