I've just found this reference to DTCs or Fault Codes.

B
= Body
C = Chassis
P = Powertrain and NOT
T = Transmission
U = Network
They are bound to fire the guy that thought of that, he's far to straight and level to be of any use.

A DTC is made up of 5 digits. The figure below demonstrates the composition
