HID xenon headlights with independent ballasts are pretty expensive
at the moment, but you can get xenon filled bulbs which are up to 30% brighter
for the same wattage as standard halogens. (Not the same, but the next
best thing.) Such bulbs include:

Dash lights are a pain in the #@!% to replace once they have burnt out. To prolong the life of yours, set the lights as dimly as you can comfortably tolerate. If you like them burning brightly, just set them slightly lower than full power so that the reduction in brightness is not very noticeable: this will still reduce voltage to the bulbs and prolong lifespan considerably. Volvospeed/Bay 13 now has detailed instructions & piccies on disassembling the dash. |
