PEELERS CRUISE TO TITLE
In one of the most lopsided seasons in league history, the Cactus League Peelers (Eric) jumped to an early lead and never looked back, cruising to a huge win in the last season of the decade. As he wrote in July '99: "As a guy who deals with races on a daily basis...This one is over!" Turns out he was right, thanks largely to a career year from Jay Bell.
BUSY SEASON FOR TRADES
The Peelers made a key trade to get Kevin Brown (30D) from the Splendid Splinters in May for John Olerud (20D) and Alex Gonzalez (3A). The rest was history. A pretty light trading year, thanks mainly to the Peelers' huge early lead. Click here for the season's transactions.
AMBASSADORS OF LOVE JOIN NO FEHR
After several weeks of indecision, the Dogs of War (Kirk) joined the league just before draft day 1999 and immediately brought a dose of perspective to the league, helping tone down the righteous e-mails and bringing his own style of democracy to the league.

THE YEAR IN REVIEW...
Among the notable events: Scott takes most of the season before deciding on a team name (Flodin's Floaters)...Commissioner's role becomes more defined...Draft is held on a Friday night for first time in NF history...Ken Griffey Jr. traded to NL after the season for Brett Tomko and Mike Cameron.
