CHARDHAM-TOUR- GUIDLINES

The following guidelines/terms would make Chardham visit a life long memorable experience:

1. Kindly carry torch, umbrella (portable), essential common medicines (as for fever, dysentery etc.), rain coat, jacket and pullovers etc. for the personal use. Weather is erratic and there is always the chance of rains and the snowfall as the climate is basically cold in Chardham route. Keep the baggage light. In case of exigencies, we can help in providing some these facilities, but at some places, the cost may be too high for you to bear.

2. You may carry dry fruit, fresh fruit, sweet, namkeen etc. for your own use although we provide everything in the tour.

3. The electricity in Chardham route is erratic. Therefore, only one bucket of warm water per person per day is provided for the baths at most places. Please avoid wastage of water as the extra bucket could be quite costly.

4. The hotel staff helps in carrying the luggage to and from hotel. A tip motivates them to work more efficiently. At the end of the tour, bus staff, kitchen staff etc. also expect incentive.

5. Kindly do not expect the star type category accommodation in the hills. In most of the places there are guest houses (Janakichatti, Guptkashi, Kedarnath etc.) which are not very nicely maintained. They do business for 3-4 months and survive for the rest of year from that income. One can not expect these places to be like our cities. They do not provide the accommodation our elite expect. In this respect we are as helpless as you are. Kindly try to adjust keeping this situation in mind. In the past we had even tried in some government guest houses or tourist lodges, but last minute cancellations caused greater problems for tourists and embarrassment for us.

6. Keep faith in the tour operator as there may be minor lapses here and there but the intention is always pure. We can not earn at the cost of our valued clients. Every group is as valued as any one. We believe in building the relationship, as every satisfied customer is our future ambassador.

7. We provide coaches with A/C facilities. Such facilities are essential during the journey in Delhi-Haridwar-Delhi sector. But we try to avoid using A/C in the steep hills as it is unnecessary strain on the engine except the fact that it will be working more on the hill. Too much strain on engine may sometime cause vehicle breakdown making your trip unpleasant.
Further Garhwal is known for its quite steep and unique mountains, for enjoying A/C you will have to close all the windows, you will be getting deprived of the fresh and natural air of the Himalayas. Still, we continue providing A/C facilities as long as you require.

8. Kindly follow the advice, instructions of the escorts as unnecessary adventure may pay you dear. We are always there to fulfill your dream of Chardham visit. God help you and us for the surrealistic experience of the Uttaranchal Chardham. The members are required to follow the guidelines of the tour operator and give topmost importance to the suggestions for the smooth transactions of the tour.

9. Help us in maintaining the time schedule. This is pilgrimage tour and not pleasure tour. On most of the days the travel starts early in the morning. Night drive is not only prohibited as per Govt. rules and regulations, but is not advisable also.

10. The tour would be deemed confirmed on receiving of 75% of tour amount in cash or by draft. The rest 25% amount would be realized at Haridwar before the departure to Chardham Yatra.

11. The food would be provided on the buffet system basis. Only morning tea would be provided in the rooms. For meals group would be required to come to the dinning place. We try to supply warm food but it may not be possible all the time as the climate is quite cold in the Chardham areas.

12. There would be morning bed tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner. We keep one hour margin each for taking food during breakfast, lunch or dinner. The group is requested to come for food at a given time and not to come in different groups at different times. If the group members keep different times, it can cause problems to the kitchen staff, and also the food becomes stale by repetive warming. Dinning together brings group coherence and saves precious time in Chardham tour, further any delay is also likely to upset the schedule.
