• Congratulations to everybody for the outstanding performance at Scripps Ranch on Saturday, October 19th!  The band took 2nd place in its division!  And the colorguard took 1st!  Great job colorguard!  All of the practices are paying off!  Let's just keep on practicing so we can perform like no other at Valley View's tournament on the 26th!!
   
• A big congratulations to the MVHS Varsity Football team.  With their 21-19 win over Valley View HS on the 18th, they have improved to a 6-0 record!
   
• A big thanks to everyone who helped at the carwash on Sunday, September 29. We made about $400.
   
• Also, don't forget about your band fees. The total cost for returning members is $110. The cost for new members is $150.
   
• Don't forget about your pizza cards. Remember, they are each $10 (that's six dollars profit--so sell them!).
   
• The Pomona Fair went great. It was fun for everyone, and now that we know what it's like to be in a real performance situation, then we should ROCK at San Diego.
   
• Thank you to all who helped at the Car Wash at Sunnymead Burgers on Saturday, August 24.  The eight hour day was quite a successful day as the MVHS Band and Colorguard earned an astounding $617.00. 
   
• The last day of Band Camp is upon us.  There will be a potluck dinner with delicious and nutritious food and snacks at 5:00 pm at the bandroom.  At 7:00 the MVHS Marching Band and Colorguard will perform inside the MVHS Gym.
  
  Thanks to all the students who were at band camp everyday.  A great deal of work was accomplished over the past week and a half that will help prepare us all for the upcoming year.  Remember, school begins on September 5.

• There is going to be a carwash fundraiser on August 24 from 8:00am to 4:00pm at Sunnymead Burgers.  Sunny mead Burgers is located at 23760 Sunnymead Blvd between Graham and Heacock.
   
• Band camp is starting soon everybody!  Be prepared to have the time of your life for a week and a half.  However, you must also be prepared to work, and you must be ready for the hot, summer conditions. 
  
  Please remember to wear a hat, sunglasses, sun block or sunscreen, and tennis shoes.  And it may or may not get cold at night, so be ready just in case!  You need to be comfortable while performing, so you need to be comfortable while practicing.  Have fun!
