The food in Vietnam was fantastic. They eat with chopsticks like in China, and eat some of the same stuff. One of the things that's just the same is rice. Rice is one of the main parts of every meal all over Asia. But there was lots more to eat in Vietnam than just rice. My favorite meal was eating soup with beef and vegetables and noodles made out of rice. Most of the time I would eat these noodle soups right on the street.
Women would bring little portable stoves and little tables and chairs out and set them up on the street. There they would cook up the soups right in front of you and you could eat really cheap and tasty food sitting on the a little chair on the sidewalk. It was great.
