    a push or a pull
  2. Motion
    a change in position with time
  3. Mass
    amount of matter in an object
  4. Static
    A body that is at rest
  5. Kinetic
    A body that is moving
  6. Acceleration
    Rate of change of velocity.
  7. Wind Tunnel
    Device for producing a controlled stream of air in order to study the effects of movement through air or resistance to moving air on models of aircraft and other machines and objects.
  8. Pressure
    Force applied to a specific amount of area.
  9. Newton
    Unit of force.
  10. Airfoil
    A surface, shaped like an airplane wing, which produces lift.
  11. Balance
    Instrument for comparing the weights of two bodies, to determine the mass of the object
  12. Matter
    nything that has mass and volume
  13. Velocity
    Quantity (a # value) that designates the speed and direction that something is moving.
  14. Gravity
    The universal force of attraction acting between all matter.
  15. Spring Scale
    An instrument used to determine weight.
  16. Resistance
    A force opposing movement.
  17. Texture
    How the surface of an object feels.

    1. Wind Tunnel
      Is a research tool developed to assist with studying the effects of air moving over or around solid objects.
    2. Force
      A push or a pull
    3. Beam
      A structural element that carries load.
    4. Truss
      A structure consisting of straight slender pieces that are inter-connected at joints forming triangular units
    5. Cylinder
      a geometric shape of a tube
    6. Column
      A vertical structural element that transmits the weight of the structure from above to other structural elements below.
    7. Disperse
      To cause to separate and go in different directions.
    8. Dome
      A dome is a common structural element of architecture that resembles the hollow upper half of a sphere.
    9. Span
      Span is a section between two intermediate supports.
    10. Frame
      A skeleton that supports other components of the object.
    11. Bridge Deck
      the roadway surface of a bridge
    12. Foundation
      The portion of a building's structure that serves to transfer the weight of the building into the ground.

      a large iron or steel support beam used in construction.
