The summer just keeps flying by....

Today, I got up and met Bryan Williams at the Archives-Navy Memorial Metro Stop.  We spent the day in DC 'exploring'.  We had planned to go up in the Washington Monument, but all the tickets were 'sold out' for the day... so we decided to walk to the Spy Museum.  The earliest tickets we could get were for 2pm, so we went in and bought them.

Then we decided to go get lunch while waiting until 2 pm to go into the museum.  We ended up walking a few blocks and eating at Hard Rock Cafe.  We ended up getting back at the museum right at 2 and so we went on in and explored the museum.  We ended up spending 4 hours there.  It was a really good museum... there were a lot of cool gadgets on display!

Finally, at some point after 6 pm we had wound our way around the entire museum and to the gift shop/exit.  From there, we walked to Union Station.  Here, we got something to drink and just sat down and had a conversation.... While we were there, amazingly, Aimi walked by. Small World! :) Anyway, we sat there talking until just after 9 pm when they were kicking us out of the eating area.  Then we walked upstairs and ended up sitting outside for a while talking some more....

While we were sitting outside, a bum walked by and said to Bryan:  "You can't stutter when you are talking to a woman, you've got to be smooth. she's always listening to what you say".  I was amused anyway!  :)

It started to rain a little, so we went back inside and sat talking some more.  I don't remember exactly when, but some time after 11pm, we walked to the Chinatown metro stop so that we both would have the train we needed to catch right there...

It was a very fun day and it was nice to have someone with me while 'exploring' dc.  I only took one picture this evening... so I'll close this entry with the photo I took at Union station looking out back towards the Capitol building.
