Our goal at La Cuisine is to furnish both the amateur and professional cook with the very best in cooking equipment, shelf stable ingredients, topical cookbooks, pot racks and linens. A retail store with an international mail order service, La Cuisine has been cited by The Washington Post and Washingtonian as an excellent source. We have no interest in selling trendy gadgets with dubious uses, nor settling for price over quality. Instead, we sell classic cookware from the best manufacturers we can find in both Europe and the United States, paying careful attention to design, weight and function.

And although we have our favorite products and manufacturer, we are always on the lookout for high quality innovations in the culinary world. Available by phone, fax or e-mail, we are also happy to answer questions about food preparation. Knowing our commitment to quality and our passion for fine food, both professional chefs and home cooks have used us a resource for over 30 years.

We also excel in handling special orders for items not usually carried in the store and we review our inventory annually, making use of suggestions from our clientele. The store is located in an early 19th century town house in historic Alexandria, Virginia. Our newsletter, A La Carte, published quarterly, has a circulation of approximately 20,000. Current issues are archived on our website in two downloadable forms, but well also be happy to a print copy of the latest issue upon request.
