Hi Elizabeth, my name is Sandra Fishwick nee Biggs, Thomas Biggs and Fanny Corke are my GG Grandparents. There are actually more children to this family, Mary Ann, who married George Grey, Frances married James Pearce, Thomas married Eliza Jane McKee the sister of Agness.
Do you have any information on Frances Corke, we think her father was Benjamin but not sure, can you help.

Elizabeth,

I've just viewed your web site and came across a couple of names that interest me. They are Amelia Stackhouse and Moses Brown. Amelia was born 1831( Manchester area of Lancashire, UK). Her brothers & sisters were George b & D 1816, William 1817 - 1818, Jane b 1819 married Hedley King(Aus), Matilda 1822 - 1893 married Robert Stables, Ann 1824 - 1827, and Richard 1828 - 1896. Their parents were Richard Stackhouse and Ann Ashton ----- my GGGGgrandparents. Her brother, Richard, was my GGGgrandfather. From there my Tree goes back to 1635, I'd love to hear more about Amelia (in particular) and Moses if you have any information.

Thank you so much for getting in touch, I very much appreciate it. Our family is documented in the Doomseday Book and originated from a small hamlet in Yorkshire, England called Stackhouse, where they got their name.
Sadly I'm unable to link the branches of my Tree to the Yorkshire family as I cannot confirm the parentage of Richard Stackhouse 1783 - 1857 marr Ann Ashton 1792 - 1864 - Amelia's parents. They were my ggg grandparents. It would be interesting to know why Moses and Amelia went to Australia. Amelia's sister, Jane, married Hedley King (Aus), I'm unsure if this means that Hedley originated from Oz or if they too, left the UK like Amelia.
Way back in the family history, a Stackhouse family from Yorkshire sailed on one of William Penn's ships to the New World. Most of the American branch (and there are many in the USA) originated from those settlers in Pennsylvania, whilst the Stackhouse name is still relatively uncommon here in England.
