Henry Horatio Raven 1826 - 2 May 1902 of Norwich England son of Ann Paul and Charles Raven, married at the Dunolly School House, Victoria, Australia on 6 Nov 1864 to Bridget Moroney 1836 - 22 Sept 1899 born in County Clare, Ireland. Bridget travelled to Australia on the Eastern Empire in March 1863, when she gave her age as 19, birth year of 1844. She died 1899 aged 63, daughter of Mary and Thomas Maroney. A possible match in the English 1851 census is Roaches Court, Norwich, in the St Giles Norwich area, household is Charles Raven aged 55, Accountant born at Neatishead, Nfk, Ann Raven wife aged 44 born at Stody Nfk, Ann daughter aged 16, Milliners Apprentice and son John St. Raven aged 11, scholar.

Archibald Boadle appears to be the husband of both Mary Ann Raven, who died after the birth of her sixth child, and also of her sister Ethel, 10 years younger than Mary Ann. Sadly, Ethel also died leaving young children, her 7th child was 7 years old. | |

Received from on Tue, 30 Dec 2003 Dear Elizabeth While recently searching the internet we discovered your page on Henry Horatio Raven and would like to tell you that in regards to Charles Raven (2nd June 1869 to 14 March 1951) he in fact had five children the first of whom you are missing: Reginald Charles Raven born. 21st March 1913 died. June 1994. He was my maternal grandfather. It may also interest you to know that Charles Matthew Raven died on the 16th of June 1943 in a military aricraft accident in the Sudan and is burried in the Commonwealth war cemetary in Khartoum. We have slightly different dates for Marianne Sophie Jane Pallot (born 23rd May 1887). We also believe that Henry Horatio's father was also Henry Horatio Raven and his mother's first name was Elizabeth. We believe he was born in about 1800 and married in approximatley 1825.
