NJCL Convention:
Our faithful members were busy at convention racking up awards. Let's give them a hand for their hard (and sometimes light-hearted) work! Scroll down for all our impressive achievements.
General Awards:
- Maryland, our glorious state, won fifth, that's right 5th place in the publicity contest.
- Lapsus Linguae, MDJCL's newsletter, won second place in the entire nation!(Take a minute and think about the size of the US, better yet get a map). We thought you'd be impressed. Many thanks and congratulations to last years editor of Lapsus Linguae, Michelle Robinson, for this wonderful achievement!
- Linganore High School won 23rd place in the nation for individual school publicity.
- Joshua Robinson and Laura Garon won 6th place in the couples' costume contest senior division. They made a spectacular Orpheus and Eurydice.
- Michelle Robinson won 4th place in the girls' dramatic interpretation.
- Samip Patel won 2nd place and Danny Haile won 5th place in advanced poetry sight Latin boys' division.
- Liz Humphries won 9th place in advanced poetry sight Latin girls' division.
Tests:
- Danny Haile won 7th place in Advanced Grammar.
- Danny Haile won 4th place and Samip Patel won 5th place in Ancient Geography.
- Danny Haile won 6th place in Greek Life and Literature.
- Danny Haile won 8th place in Hellenic History.
- Liz Humphries won 2nd place in Latin Derivatives.
- Samip Patel won 10th place in Latin Literature.
- Danny Haile won 6th place in mottoes.
- Danny Haile won 6th place in Roman History.
