Dolphin

Also known as mahi-mahi, The dolphin is a rapidly growing, vorcious eater that appears in great numbers off the florida coast. At times of the year the fish will range from schools of fish of similar size running from 1 to 8 lbs. They appear magically around weedlines and debris offshore. Rips holding weeds and bait mean that the fish are not far away. Floating debris such as boards and logs may hold suprising numbers of fish below them, yielding them to everything from live bait to surface plugs and jigs. They also attack flies with a vengence.

Solitary dolphin of sizes up to 50-60 lbs roam offshore and have been seen among sailfish competing for kite baits in the Winter and spring.
