All the world really needs now is another lost Armstrong. Where is it written that the world always gets what it needs? The Armstrong Search is very slow!

NOTICE: UPDATE - JOHN MELTON ARMSTRONG (born 1884) has been located in the 1920 census with his son (my half brother) in St. Joseph, MO. At this time he was a widower. The census says that my grandparents came from Pennslyvania and New York. The "I Love A Mystery" saga goes on but much happier now! Next, found my GRANDFATHER and he was in the Civil War!

The Braswell search, "Following the Braswell's in America" , fourth edition, as researched and written by Dr. Roy Bennett Braswell, updated by niece Joy Braswell has been transcribed to the computer and is posted:

FOLLOWING THE BRASWELLS IN AMERICA

Welcome to another Genealogy Home Page. As maybe the last daughter (no brothers living that I know of) in my Armstrong line I must identify my roots for my daughters. My side of the family is almost blank, but I do have some information that might be useful to another Armstrong lost along the way. This site will welcome queries and maybe answer more questions.

USofA

Armstrong, Melton, Joyner, Merritt, Lanier, Sloan, Nixon, Carlton, Harris, Cone, White and Braswell, Bracewell, Brasswell, Smith, Coleman, Wagner, Mayfield, Boyd and many, many more!

History unknown is often prey to the revisionist and story tellers; history should not be re-written but should be found and not forgotten. The women of history are often left out because of the last name change. Then our fathers are gone, our anchor point in history is lost. To those young enough to do so, I say find your roots and preserve them no matter what it takes. Find every piece of information, save it and credit it.
