ABOUT US

Bishop Heber College, a great institution in higher education accredited with Five Stars by NAAC to impart quality higher education with creativity to all, especially the poor, the needy and the underprivileged and contribute towards building a great India. Tiruchirappalli, situated in central Tamil Nadu on the banks of the River Cauvery, 320 km from Chennai. It is also a city of historical importance and a centre for pilgrimage and education.
The DLIS was started in 1983 to train and develop hardcore library and information science professionals to meet the issues and challenges in this field. Library and Information Science Association (LISA) and Alumni Association of Library and Information Science (AALIS), the 
organs of DLIS are jointly conducting many successful programmes for the past five years.
This year also, LISA and AALIS are jointly conducting a two-day Fourth National Conference on ISSUES OF POLICY MAKING IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTRES IN IT ERA at Tiruchirappalli on 29–30 December, 2004. The two-day conference will have invited lectures by prominent experts in the field, contributed papers and presentation from Library and Information Professionals and Academicians on relevance of Issues of policy making in IT era.
