We at J.J. Cat Castle feel very strongly about the issue of animal abuse. These poor innocent animals who can not speak for themselves need a voice.

We as human beings can and MUST be their voice. FOR THEM we must never stop until animal rights are heard and laws are put into effect and upheld. We must not stop until animal abusers are brought to justice.

We can not close our eyes to this any longer. We must stop turning the other way and think someone else will take care of it. It is time we as a society stopped making excuses for animal abusers, we must come together and speak for these beautiful living creatures that God has entrusted in our care.

Please write your congress person and other public officials encouraging tougher animal cruelty laws. Let them know that we WILL NOT tolerate their ignorance on this subject any longer.

Let our voices be heard loud and clear FOR THE ANIMALS SAKE!

The Declaration of Independence for Animals

July 4th, 1998

We the Animals, Pets and Wildlife declare our right to live a life free from abuse and the anger and hatred of Humans.

We declare our freedom from labratory testing, torture and unwanted litters. We have the God given right to go about peacefully in our daily lives. To love and protect our humans in return for the same love and protection. We are entitled to Spaying and Neutering and regular vet visits. Clean water and fresh food and a bed to lay in. Our brothers and sisters in the wild deserve respect and freedom from those who enter it, knowing is is their home. Our puppies and kittens, if they must be born, then it must be to a world where they know love, kindness and attention.

We declare the right to demand that laws be written so as to protect us and our families. We are living, loving creatures who CAN feel pain and suffering, who can rationalize. We are capable of love for one another and for humans.

Ther must be NO MORE Scruffy's, Noah's Ark, Olivia, Zig Zag, Kodo, Leo and all those who have suffered at the hands of evil humans and archaic laws. May they not have died in vain. We are imploring our human friends to help win this Independence and freedom for us. For those who would abuse and kill a lowly animal will someday kill a fellow man. So on this special day to Americans, let the Animal revolution of Heart and Pen begin.

The Animals of the Earth.

Help the owner of a tame exotic Serval cat named
Elijah regain custody of him from the State of MA.

"Twisty Cats" are naturally the result of a rare congenital deformity causing the shortening and bending of the cat's front limbs. Such cats are defenseless out of doors and must depend on humans for care and feeding or die. As many cats as there are in this country that are abandoned and mistreated, the intentional breeding of cats with these deformities is nothing short of animal abuse and should be banned. Please Sign the Petition to stop the breeding of these cats!

PETITION TO STOP ANIMAL DUMP BINS
Feb 20, 2000 - Apr 20, 2000
http://www.e-thepeople.com/petition.cfm?PETID=331923

In 1999 there were two counties in Tennessee with Dump Bins of which two have been demolished. Receptacles to hold unwanted, discarded, ill or old cats and dogs. Age, health or size is of no consequence. It has been found that there are 9 states currently using this method of animal control besides Tennessee. Arkansas, California, Georgia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas & Virginia. These are the states we know about.

PETITION AGAINST THE BREEDING OF TWISTY CATS

http://thorin.adnc.com/~richlin/onlinepetition.html

Imagine a kitty that can't jump, run and play. Imagine that somebody intentionally bred this kitty to be deformed. Well, that's a Twisty Cat. These poor babies are bred to have deformed or shortened legs and paws. Some are more deformed than others, to the point of being crippled. Animal rights activists have been trying to stop the breeding of these cats, as long as we've been aware of them; but, the situation is just getting worse. The deformities are perpetrated into the next generations; and perfectly normal looking cats are producing "Twistys". Many of these poor cats have been abandoned, and have little or no chance of survival.

Please sign the petition to stop 2 breeders of these cats!

ANIMAL DROP BOXES IN NORTH CAROLINA
March 8, 2000 - May 7, 2000
At least four animal shelters in the state of North Carolina use live animal drops. These drops are used by pet owners to abandon their animals anonymously at animal control facilities and animal shelters after normal working hours. The use of drop boxes reinforces the notion that animals are disposable property and reinforces irresponsible behavior in animal owners. There are no laws that govern the condition of drop boxes or protect the animals left inside them. At the Dunn Animal Control Facility, fifteen to seventeen animals have been counted, crowded into the drop cage. At the SPCA of Wake County drop box, incorrect information led to the deaths of two young dogs.

We ask that all live animal drop off facilities in North Carolina be closed, that live animal drop off facilities be made illegal in the state of North Carolina, that more humane surrender procedures for unwanted animals be funded and supported by county and state officials, and that penalties for abandoning unwanted animals be enforced under the existing animal cruelty laws of North Carolina.
