Via Delorosa

Via Dolorosa
--------------------

The day a humble mans aim,
Interrogated and trapped by baits;
his faithful disciples betrayal
after the stones thrice-denial,
via Jerusalem on a road his people
called his decline.

Creepy shadows in armour feared, tempted
the man in white robes arrested:
never a gesture of forsaken,
ever gestures of tolerance,
his blood in the hands of his Father---
death is to life;

nailed he was to be and thistles,
for spreading kingship,
roses of sharon wailed on the wall,
via Ecce Homo to Golgotha,
through His sabra his Father settled scores---
put an end to enmity,
life over death.

The humble man worked a sickly death
to His people could not accept truth
full of hatred---
He is the Messiah and light,
all life returns to Him in glory,
after three days;

the curtain torn apart, mysterious
His resurrection after Sabbath,
His people much wailed and repented
to seek His light near the end,
of the century is a passage revealed,
once more His cross must be,
Carry on...

NOTE: Ecce Homo, ie. Ecce Homo Arch is the name of an arch believed to be where Pontius Pilate
showed Jesus Christ to the crowd before the cruxifixion. It is part of Via Dolorosa, a major
tourist spot in Jerusalem and the route believed to be walked on by Jesus to His death and
resurrection (John 19:5).
Sabra, in Hebrew, means "prickly pear" in reference to someone "tough on the outside, soft in
the inside". To me, Jesus is both powerful and merciful.
