He Died For You

He died for you.
For whom?
I say he died for you.
For whom?
The one who turns his face away,
The one who never calls His name,
The one who will betray,
I say he died for you.
The one who trusts He has it all,
The one who could never fall,
The one juggles all the balls,
I say he died for you.
And so I remember yesterday
The pain, the mocking, the stakes, the tree,
I say it should have been you and I on Calvary.
But as I look to tommorow
The empty grave, the Savior alive,
I say he took the place of you and I
So we would not have to die.
