One night Chris Killgore (US Navy Seal) and a few friends get into a bar fight, while in jail Chris is told that he is going to be dishonerably discharged and he won't get the GI Bill (meaning he won't get college money.) Chris meets a scientist who tells him that he can keep him in the Navy for his last four weeks in the Navy if he takes two injections everyday.

Six months after he gets out of the Navy he notices that has become much stronger and faster then he ever was, and he is also noticing that his skin is changing colors. Chris Killgore then becomes Viper (Idaho's First Superhero.)
