HISTORY OF THE
WORLD MOOSUL KWAN FEDERATION
Founded on October 1, 1988 The World Moosul
Kwan Federation focuses on both sides of the arts. Both HEALING and
COMBATIVE skills!
Grandmaster Derman B. Hodge, Sr.
was
elected as its first president and was named its first Head-Master (Kwan
Jang). Holding the ranks of 7th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido and 5th
Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, he is also the founder of the
Hosin-Do
Tae Phung Kwan ( The Great Storm School of Self Defense.)
The World Moosul Kwan Federation has been
formed to provide qualified support, guidance, and unity for students and
instructors of all martial arts. We want to produce the traditional
oriental martial arts, foster genuine cooperation and fellowship between
reputable martial artists and martial arts organizations, and develop
scientific methods for practicing and teaching the martial arts.
To preserve the traditional martial arts;
to foster genuine cooperation and fellowship between martial artists of
all ranks, arts and styles; to develop and teach scientific methods for
the practicing and teaching of the traditional martial arts.
The World Moosul Kwan
Federation is a bona fide organization of continuous nature providing
technical and administrative support to its affiliated schools and general
membership while assuring high standards of quality in training for its
students.
We are dedicated to the
preservation of the traditional aspects of all martial arts while ensuring
that students are being taught only realistic and truly effective
techniques of self-defense and the high moral standards inherent in the
pursuit of martial arts excellence.
Through its adherence to
modern scientific concepts for teaching and practicing the traditional
martial arts, this federation provides a true medium by which the
opinions, ideas, developments and experiences of its members can be shared
and ultimately benefit all members.
We are sworn to the
development of a system of testing and promotion which guarantees pride of
achievement to each student regardless of grade or degree. Since the World
Moosul Kwan Federation admits martial artists of several arts and styles,
we offer "technical" promotion examinations as well as traditional
promotional examinations.
The coveted rank of "Black
Belt" is awarded by the World Moosul Kwan Federation only to those who
have adhered to the high standards set by
the World Moosul Kwan Federation and who have exhibited exceptional
proficiency in the understanding, execution and application of
techniques of the degree for which they are testing.
We are not a diploma
mill. We are not a "sports only" organization. |
