Let me tell you about the movies I viewed so far this summer. The first movie I saw this summer was the block buster Twister. The movie overall was good, but the plot line itself stunk. To think with all the money they spent on special effects, they could have spent more time developing a better story line. The great special effects make up for the lame story line though.

The second movie I viewed was Mission Impossible. I went into the theater with high exceptions, unfortunately I was disappointed greatly. The story line is so confusing, that my head felt like it was about to explode. The movie has so many twists and turns, I lost track. I went through the whole movie confused. It was not till the end of the movie that I figured out some (not all) of the plot. Of course, it was all worth sitting through, for the spectacular finale. Which takes place on a train. (An added bonus is that Marcel Wallace from Pulp Fiction is in it.)

The third movie I viewed was The Rock. It was by far the best movie I have seen so far this summer. The action is continuous through out the entire movie. It a fast paced adrenaline rush. It had great special effects in it and also a very interesting story. Connery and Cage are also very good in it. Ed Harris plays an interesting bad guy in it. Instead of the normal no feelings bad guy, Harris actually plays a bad guy with a heart and is unsure of what he is getting into.

This will be updated as the movie season goes on!

LOOK FORWARD TO:

Independence Day

(this one looks like the blockbuster of the summer)

As I recently stated, that the rock was the best summer movie out, it has unsuprisingly been replaced by none other then Independence Day. Independence Day, the sure fire block buster of the summer is by far the BEST movie that will be replaced this summer. The story is simple yet awesome. July 2 Aliens come, July 3 They attack, July 4 we fight back. The movie is packed with great action. Such as major cities being wiped out and many other awesome explosives. The special effects are eyepopping it seems as if it is not a movie, but real life. The movie is both a disaster film and a war film. Either way it is marvelous. The cast includes Bill Pullman as the President who is faced with a horrible crisis. Jeff Goldman plays a genius who can crack the Aliens plans. They both act well for their parts in this movie. The only person I had a problem with was Will Smith. Throughout the whole film he acts like the Fresh Prince. I was just waiting for Uncle Phil to come and slap him. Other then him everyone potrays their characters acurate. I highly recommend you see ID4 for it very well might be the lasrt movie you ever see!!!

special effects 10 acting 8 (Will Smith brought it down)
over all 9 (just a plain awesome movie)
Rarely do I misbehave at a movie, but when I recently saw the Cable Guy, the highlights of my trip to the theatre came not from the film, but from what took place at the theatre. It involved me choking "Spamm" with a sock and dumping my friends soda down onto the floor. You see the movie was impossible to watch. I went to it expecting to see a light hearted comedy and to laugh my heart out. Instead I ended up not laughing once. Also instead of most Jim Carrey films being drowned out in laughter. Not one person laughed once. Once! It is not a comedy, but a dark drama. Even Jim Carrey couldn't manage one funny line in this dark little film.
Acting 3 ( no one funny)
Not even worth reveiwing
over all - 3
As I attended Strip Tease, the audience was constantly screaming "Take it off." Unfortunately the were not talking about Ms. Moore, but the movie itself. I could not wait for it to end. Ypou see the movie is supposed to be a comedy, but it is more like a stink fest. (except of course for Marcel Wallace who is in this stinky movie) If you only go to see nudity I suggest buying one of the various Vanity Fairs with Demi Moore in it.
Acting (like this movie envolves acting)
Overall Movie -3
Phenomenon This movie stars John Travolta as a good hearted George Malley. The plot of the movie is George gets hit by a bright light and gains incredible powers, Such as incredible intelligence and great mind powers. The first hour was enjoyable, watching George discovering his new found powers. He does everything from makinmg fuel out of pig manure to learning languages in twenty minutes. After the first hour though, it gets quite boring. Watching Travolta try to get a woman to go out with him. Who cares? What people want to see is him use his powers more. The ending you may hate or love. Personally I hated it and I am pretty sure you will too. It was to Forest Gump for me! Acting 8 (Travolta plays his friendly character perfect. Unfortunately I can not say the same for the rest of the cast. Still they manage a decent performance.)
Story 6 (The main story gets interupted to much!)
Over all 7 (Movie gets extremaly boring in some spots)
-Don't make it your first choice to see. Much better movie's out there!

I just saw the new Arnold movie Eraser. If you plan on going expect to see the same old shoot em up bad guy movie, that Arnold is usually in. Eraser has many similarities to True Lies. With a few exceptions, the comedy relief in True Lies was much funnier. Sure I got a few laughs out of the movie (more then I got out of the Cable Guy, but Tom Arnold was abetter side Kick then Robert Pastrolli.(elden on Murphy Brown) For an Arnold movie it was good. Good action and special effects. The best part of the movie is the scene with the gators. The story line is Ok. More understandable the Mission Immpossible. Arnold play's John Kruger aka Eraser. He saves people from the mob by erasing their past lives. His one "client" played by Vannessa Williams gets kidnapped and from then on he has to chase after her. Action obsesses beware, their are boring "talking scenes" so if your looking for non stop action beware. So if you are a fan of Arnold then go see this movie, for it's just bas good as most of his other movies. With the exceptions of the Terminator 1 and 2. The only Arnold movies I find good.(actually great) But keep in mind last years True Lies was much better. So if you haven't seen True Lies or the Terminator movies I suggest renting them, instead of running to your nearby theatre to catch a Eraser. Unless your are a huge fan of Arnold.
Acting-4 (what do expect from a former body builder and singer, Shakesphere?)
special effects-8 (aligator scene is great)
over all- 6 (not the best action movie from Arnold)

After Eraser I was in the mood for a good laugh. So I went and saw the Nutty Proffesor. After seeing it I have one thing to say "Eddie is Back." This movie is so funny. Eddie Murphy plays seven characters in this movie. All played great. Eddie Murphy finnally after so many disasterous movies (Beverly Hills Cop 3 Vampire in Brooklyn) is finally back in a good movie. He plays the loveable Sherman Klump. A funny fat professor. Who creates a potion that makes himself skinny. Let's just say a few things go wrong after using the potion. This movie is by far the funniest movie that will come along this summer and months to follow. Yes Eddie is back and in fine funny form. If you are looking for a good laugh, this is worth seeing.
Acting-8 (Eddie Murphy is hilariously funny as every character he plays)
special effects-8 ( good special effects and when Murphy plays Sherman you can't tell what is make up and what is real over all-8 (Funniest movie this summer)

Finally some new reviews!!!

I recently caught the new Micheal Keaton movie Multiplicity. In it Micheal Keaton portrays himself and three other clones of himself. Now this movie was basically a flop at the box office. So as you can except I went with low excpections, but the movie completly suprised me. The first clone of Keaton handles the work. The clone is cockier and tougher then the real Keaton. So as I am sure you can guess that leads to some problems. The second clone handles the house work and child care. Also he has a real strong femine side to him.(in other words he acts gay) The third clone is cloned off of the first clone, instead of being cloned of of the real Keaton. So that makes #3 a deffect.(in other words he is a moron) #3 supplies the most laughs in this film. Such as how he tries to shave his tongue and how he puts leftover slices of pizza in his wallet. But don't get me wrong the other clones and the real Keaton are also funny. So this movie kept me laughing most of the time. Don't get me wrong their are some boring and corny spots in this movie, but overall this movie is quite entertaining. Also it is awesome to see all the Keatons interact with eachother on screen.
Acting-8(Keaton portrays all the different clones differently and convincingly, but I don't particulary care for Andie McDowell's performance in this movie.)

Special effects-9(awesome!! Keatons interact with eachother I forgot they were all played by the same characters)

overall-7(not one of the best this summer, but it is a very funny movie)

Once again I was dragged to a movie against my will. The movie was Courage Underfire, starring Denzel Washington and Meg Ryan. It is about a woman(Meg Ryan) who is up to recieve the Medal of Honor, for her actions in the Persian Gulf War. Denzel Washington is the man who is trying to uncover the truth about what really happened during the war and if she actually deserves the Medal. During the various interviews with the soldiers in Meg Ryan's squad he is told various different stories. One is about how she is a hero and saved everybody in her squad and one that she cries and begs to retreat. Both Denzel and Meg portray their characters wonderfully. This movie has the best acting so far this summer and probably will have the best acting all summer. The story is wonderfully written and very interesting. It keeps you in suspense up until the very end. I believe that Denzel Washington deserves an Oscar nomination for his role.
Acting-10(wonderfully acted by all the actors and actresses in this movie.
overall-(excellent movie. GO SEE IT!)

Recently I went to see the Fugitive. Opps I mean Chain Reaction. IF you want to see thsi movie I suggest you rent the Fugitive.
Overall-3(Story was boring and it is to hard to tell who is the FBI and who is the bad guys)
Acting-5(the only acting in this movie comes from Morgan Freeman who can't do much for this lame movie)
Special Effects-7(The only good scene comes when Keanu Reeves outraces an explosion cloud that covers six city blocks)
I accompied my sisters to see Harriet the Spy.(ok so I didn't go with my sisters, but you have to understand I had to see this movie!!!:) Harriet the Spy is a good movie for kids under the age of ten. I doubt it will keep anybody older then that awake. So unless you have to accompany your younger siblings don't go!! But I gurantee younger kids will love this movie. It will keep their attention (unlike the Hunch Back of Notre Dame) and make them laugh. In other words TAKE EM'. -don't ask me to judge this movie. Ask a younger kid.-

I got Email requesting a review of the controversial movie Natural Born Killers. I can describe it in one word, crap! This movie was supposed to show how powerful the media is. Yet all this movie showed was how lame most Hollywood movies have become. Their was no story their was no acting. All their was, was violence. VIOLENCE!! I don't mind a movie with a lot of violence (Pulp Fiction), but unlike Pulp Fiction their was no point at all to this movie. None at all! -Not worth a minute of your time-
