:: Coffee Talk ::

This is basically a collection of whatever I feel like writing. It'll probably be a lot of journal-type entries, but there might be other exciting things; like lists. I would also like to express that I apologize in advance to all of my friends for this page because you all drive me a little crazy and I might decide to talk about you here. I'm sorry for that, but remember that a true friend stabs you in the FRONT. Sign my guestbook if you have anything interesting to share.

Today’s post is in honor of my good friend, Michael. It is his birthday. Well, sort of. He was actually born on February 29th, so he really has no birthday this year. He is the only 4 ½ year old I know that is 6’3”. Michael is a great guy and one of the smartest people I know. One of my best guy friends. I like him because I can be a nerd when I talk to him. Our frequent topics of conversation include Billy Joel, basketball, my school, George Dubya, Crocodile Hunter, and other fun stuff. He owes me a pair of Rocket Club sweatpants. He is the coolest. Happy Birthday Michael!

Like I stated previously tonight, Fatsarah's blog really makes my day and makes me think. Because I am not in school right now, I am not challenged on a daily basis to really think about things besides matching the right jewelery with the right shoes. I hope that Fatsarah dosen't mind me putting this here...but this is one of my favorite posts of hers. I think it might be why I am single. Here goes: "My dad has told me many times that a majority of women that get beaten by their men are smarter and/or more successful then their man, and the beating is an unconscious act of jealousy, a way of proving power. Therefore, i dont feel safe with less intelligent guys, but i can't tolerate the egos of men that are both attractive and smarter than me."

I am picking up Fatsarah tomorrow around 11:00. We are going to go to Panera. I have not seen her since December 20th or so. I hope it is a fun-filled reunion. I wish I would have gotten to know Fatsarah better while at KU. We had so much in common then...representing Southwestern Michigan and Honda Pride...but I didn't really realize until I started reading her blogs that we have so much more in common than that. Let's take, for instance, our fathers. Pushing us into male-dominated careers because we are capable young women that would receive job offers over the men in our field because we are, well...women. Then there's the fact that we have both decided to follow another path (and the same path, at that...) She, of course, is much closer than I am at reaching the destination. She has already transferred schools. She has already told the parental units about her plans. I haven't even gotten that far, but plan to do so soon. Maybe I'll wait until after my spring break road trip with Sarah. And maybe I'll shoot myself in the foot.

Next week is Spring Break for Michigan State University students. I am not a student. I do not get a spring break. But....my friend Sarah does. (Sidenote...I have two friends named Sarah that go to MSU...I will call them "Sarah" and "Fatsarah." I grew up with Sarah, and shared a wall with Fatsarah at Kettering until she transferred) Sarah and I have had plans to visit our fourth grade teacher for about 5 years. Miss Smith was the bomb-diggity. This just might be the means and opportunity for us to crash Stewart Elementary. If Sarah would just get on top of things and talk to her fake boss about scheduling, then I would know what days to take off work for the road trip. Grab the bull by the horns! Dr. Fake Job isn't that scary, Sarah. He's only a physicist.

I went rollerblading today because it was so lovely outside. It felt like early September. Nice and sunny. I went exploring the new subdivision going in behind my house. I am glad I went in the daytime because there is a lack of pavement in certain places...
This was a great weekend at work. Although I do not get commission, I did get a Fantastic Fantasy Check for $30 toward any accessories in the store. I have my eyes set on a handbag. It is purple satin with flower sequins all over. Way cute. I have a small fetish for handbags, but if you know me, then you already know that much.
My gosh is my dad obnoxious. I am trying to watch this show and he's being so annoying. He does things like grind coffee while the show is on, but is silent through the commercials. Who does that? Grrr.
