By establishing programmed activities, we as a congregation hope to further
the knowledge of our place in the world as individuals and a collective community.
The following activities occur on a regular or seasonal basis. Please
check our newsletter for the current schedule.
Youth RE and Adult
RE
The knowledge, understanding, and sense of good judgment that comes with
wisdom is gained through education. The Religious Education program
at Hammond Unitarian Church consists of Youth & Adult activities that
help us to broaden our spiritual experience.
Our Religious Education program is currently under development. Please
contact us for more information.
Our Funday School attendees typically join the adults for the beginning
of the service and a "Story for All Ages." Then they gather in another
part of the facility to begin their guided Funday School lesson of the day.
"UU and Me" - a Unitarian Universalist magazine for kids. Subscriptions
are available to us as a CLF membership benefit.
Open Mind Community
Forum
This program began at Hammond Unitarian Church in 2003. A series
of lectures by local guest speakers on various topics of community interest
will be sponsored on a seasonal basis.
Taking time out for fun is all part of growing a well balanced community.
Social activities for all HUC members & friends have included:
- Pot-luck meals at our meeting place and at private homes
- Outings to community events
- Day hikes & canoe trips
- Movies & theater productions
- Group lunches
If you would like to organize a fun activity let us know by either signing
up at a service, or you may contact any board member. The only "rules"
are that it be EASY AND FUN!
Hammond Regional
Arts Center
Our relationship with HRAC goes beyond them simply providing us with a place
to meet.
Don't forget to support the Hammond Regional Arts Center (HRAC). They
have ongoing activities throughout the year and individual memberships are
available. Visit the HRAC web site for contact information and more
details on their activities.
The HUC is affiliated with HRAC though an agreement where we periodically
use the space of their facilities for our worship services, meetings, and
other related activities.
