Introduction

With the fall of Lord Voldemort the wizarding world had found peace. The Ministry of Magic had worked to disband the group that had followed the Dark Lord, the Death Eaters. The hero of the world, Harry Potter, however soon disappeared from the sight of the wizardry world community. No one is sure what has happened to the Boy-Who-Lived. When reporters sought his friends, one Miss Hermione Granger and Mr Ron Weasley, they found only dead-ends. Neither Granger or Weasley knew of their friend's location and if they did they had not revealed it.

The fall of the Dark Lord, the search for H. Potter, and the flushing of Death Eaters had filled the papers for two years before the news started to dwindle down. Many people continued to talk of the issues but even that soon came to an end.

Life at Hogwarts continued to move on after Minerva McGonagall's first year as Headmistress. Many issues sought to close the school, as parents and students feared the rise of the Dark Lord and the death of the great wizard Albus Dumbledore. However, after the fall of Lord Voldemort the school was soon back on its feet. The rhythm and routine returning to the school's walls.

In the year 2025, McGonagall resigned from Headmistress of Hogwarts. The great lady having gotten on in her age, and it was becoming hard for to keep up with the on-goings of the School. She died three years later.

In her place the school received Apollo Hencraft as headmaster and Roberta Wellington as Deputy Headmistress. The pair were well known for their independent spirits and their differing opinions. Although Hencraft and Wellington did not get on well with each other, the school continued to thrive beneath their combined leadership until suddenly they disappeared one day in April of 2039.  Many rumours were spread by the students about the disappearance of the Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress.

The school was headed by a Ministry employee until the end of the term. While the term continued, searches were conducted to find the missing Heads, but nothing was uncovered. There was no clue left to where the two might be or what might have happened to them.

Despite this major event, the Ministry managed down play it and keep peace among the staff and students, and in turn the parents, allowing Hogwarts the opportunity to continue on. However, come summer, the next big rift was to start. Besides search for a new Headmaster and Deputy Headmaster, they were also in need of a new staff. The old refused to continue working after the disappearance of the old heads, despite the reassurances of the Ministry.

Now the question remains, who will head the school and what happened to the old heads?

2040 - 2044

In the fall of 2040, the Ministry decided to place Unspeakable Owen Wrencroft in charge of the school and the mystery within it. Wrencroft had made a name for himself as an Unspeakable being one of the best in the business for solving the large mysteries of magic. However, the ministry bit off more than they could chew by installing Wrencroft at the school. The man is notoriously known as the "Rude Bastard" among those in his department and others. This has carried into his dealings with the school. Wrencroft had done what he was told but he never quite listened to the Ministry, this fact pissing the Ministry off.

Wrencroft headed the school for three straight years. In this third year running the school, leads finally started to show up in the mystery of the disappearance of the former heads. However, students started to disappear as well, worrying both parents and the Ministry. All of a sudden, the Ministry was breathing down the necks of Wrencroft and the Hogwarts' staff. Tempers became short and tension broke out.

Finally, around three quarters of the way through the school year a solid lead was found. A staff member had witnessed the disappearance of two students. She informed the Headmaster. They learned that a chamber was the cause of the mischief.

This chamber was about the size of a broom closet. The chamber was constantly moving, never staying in one place past five minutes. In side the chamber was bare, with only runes scratched into every wall of the chamber. When someone entered the chamber they were enveloped by a black light knocking them out, before they slowly faded away.

Wrencroft had brought in a cartographer to the school. The cartographer had made a map of the school [think Marauders' Map]. However, the cartographer ended up making two maps after the first seemed like a mistake. The map had shown people who had not been in the school for over hundreds of years, people thought to be dead! The second map was normal, mapping all the rooms, even the moving chamber. For weeks, Wrencroft watched the map waiting for it to appear in a certain place. Finally the chamber appeared in one of the spots Wrencroft had chosen. He acted quickly, freezing the chamber in place, in the Great Hall.

After the chamber had frozen, Wrencroft and various staff members worked to try and figure the room out. It was not until two weeks before the end of the term that they worked the symbols out and in essence reversing the chamber. Instead of sending people there, it brought them back. The faded were returned to the school. However, not only those who recently disappeared were returned, but people who had been missing from almost around the Founders' time period!

When the term came to an end, the Ministry fired Wrencroft from both his position as Headmaster of Hogwarts and Unspeakable. In his place, they placed the Minister's Senior undersecretary, Randel Erring, as the new Headmaster of the school. Right away Erring found trouble. The staff and students were set against his presence in the school. Not for the man himself, but rather that he replaced Wrencroft, who had become a sort of figure in the school by this time, and also that he was a Ministry dog.

However, the school continued to run under Erring. No problems erupted under the man and the Ministry was happy to finally have complete control of the school, as nothing Erring did was without approval of the Ministry of Magic. During this term, however, the weather took an extreme turn. Summer became hotter, Autumn colder, Winter even colder, and Spring even warmer. The weather was at an extreme but nothing that people worried over.

Aside from Hogwarts, the wizarding world also continued to thrive. However, in the summer of Wrencroft's firing, a new group arose, the Creva'llcs under Narvon Diarabrysm, an angered scientist, and Kaitylen Woolfe, the secretary of Freelance work. Both decided the Ministry was corrupted and it was time to do something about it! They formed the Creva'llcs and the attacks on the organization started. In response to this group, aurors Phillip Routledge and Robyn Lokei dug up the Order of Phoenix and re-established it as the Phoenixial Renaissance, fighting back against the Creva'llcs.

However, both groups are unaware of a group that had started back in 2041 under J'zebelle Rogan and Alcander Terhoix, the Ethereals. The Ethereals are a secretive group with the world at large unaware of their existence. Anything the Ethereals happen to do, the Creva'llcs have now taken the blame for it. However, there are a few people out in the world who suspect there are more than just the Creva'llcs acting out in the world. However, the Ministry is quick to discourage these thoughts and no one seems to listen anyway.

Perhaps they would continue to be deaf until things become too late. Too late to listen. Too late to save the people of the world. Too late...

Pheonixial Renaissance, Ethereals, and Creva'llcs Plotline

Introduction: With the rise of a new Dark Lord, the Wizard World Community has now found itself repeating history. When problems errupt, one has been finding figures in dark cloaks fleeing the scenes and in the sky, much like the Dark Lord Voldemort's, a symbol.

But what does it mean? Who are the figures in cloaks?

Pheonixial Renaissance: The Pheonixial Renaissance is the Order of Pheonix revival. With the arrival of a new Dark villian, the wizard world resistance has found the need to form a group once more to ban together and defeat this new villian.

However, with this new day and age, it seemed wrong to work under the title of the Order. This was different. Although many of the goals and ideals were the same, it was not right for the name to be the same as the one before. This was a new day and age. Following the idea of the Pheonix, the rebirth from the flames, a new name was founded. Pheonixial Renaissance.

Now the question is: can they defeat this new evil?

Ethereals: The Ethereals are the equivalent of Lord Voldemort's Death Eaters. However, with the rise of a new Dark villian, the name has changed. Despite the fact that most of the goals and ideals are the same, so we assume, the name has been changed.

We can only assume the reason being that Lord Voldemort had failed in his conquest of the wizarding world and this new person wants to step out of Lord Voldemort's shadow.

Afterall, who wants to use something another had used?

Ethereal's History and Information:

The Ethereals started with the dream of one woman and the devotion of one man. Since she was young, J'zebelle Rogan has dreamed of revolutionized what she sees as a shoddy leadership of the potentially wonderful wizarding world. In 2038, she met Alcander Terhiox, a man a few years older than her that quite agreed with her views. Within a couple weeks they had joined forces, deciding to change things their way.

Very few people know about the Ethereals. J'zebelle trusts adults more than she does students, and as a result there is a limited number of student members. Student members know virtually nothing about the organization, and adult members only know a bit more. Only once you reach the inner circle are you granted with knowledge.

The basic purpose of the Ethereals? There are two. Firstly, to gain as much information about the current workings and occurences inside Hogwarts, so that it will be easy to take it over once the time comes. Second, to gain as much influence as possible outside Hogwarts. This can not be done through force, but infiltraton and persuasion. Adults are used outside the castle for these difficult tasks; students are used inside for the mere purpose of reporting back to the Ethereals.

Here is the breakdown / hierarchy:

student members or anyone under seventeen [currently accepting applications to be considered]:

  • do not know the identity of j'zebelle.

  • think that alcander is the leader.

  • only speak to alcander, briefly / rarely in person and usually through an orb called a lifeline.

  • only used for the purpose of being the ethereal "eyes and ears" inside hogwarts. tasks are extremely rare.

adult members or anyone over seventeen [currently accepting applications to be considered]:

  • do not know the identity of j'zebelle.

  • know that alcander speaks for someone else, but believe that this someone else is a male and refer to him as rogue / zeb.

  • are contacted by alcander personally for tasks, but they do not know where to find him, though they may send mail.

  • are given tasks; not meaningless, but not the largest, either.

inner circle [note: you can not apply for the inner circle; they will be selected from the adult members that seem worthy and the type that j'zebelle will choose]

  • know j'zebelle's true gender / identity; call her the 'dark lady'.

  • meet with j'zebelle, though not too often, just sometimes.

  • meet with alcander quite often, know the location of the headquarters.

  • are given important and difficult tasks.

Registration for the Ethereals will be limited, especially for student members. They will have to approved by J'zebelle herself, based on who she thinks worthy and who would join for the right reasons [according to her].

More can be learned about the Ethereals by reading J'zebelle's profile, and also, more will be added as time goes on. Remember. Knowledge about this organization is almost non-existant. None can leak.

Creva'llcs: The Creva'llcs are a second group that has risen to try and take over the world.  Well, maybe not the world.  Currently, they are working on bringing down the Ministry.  The Creva'llcs are basically a second evil group, a counter-part to the Ethereals, but not.

While the Ethereals are a secretive group, working in the backgrounds, the Creva'llcs are the ones that are making the headlines.  They are an acting group.  They are known while the Ethereals are not, which suits the Ethereal's purposes perfectly fine.

History: Narvon "Doc" or "The Doc" was more or less a scientist/researcher type of person. Perhaps for the Ministry or freelance. Either way, he wasn't very rich, poor more like it. He depended on funding and people backing his research/projects and so on. He is rather thin and scruffy ... and he's a little weird ... insane weird, and yet all the screws/nuts/bolts are there ... just in a different order, but it still works!

He started this group up when the Ministry cut the funding for a large project he was working on. Angry, Narvon decided to do something about it. He decided to retaliate.

The Creva’llcs are more of an acting group. They are more frontward action, while the Ethereals are background. The Ethereals are more of an undercover group. They won't reveal themselves until the last possible moment. While the Creva’llc will be the ones in the newspapers. Basically an annoyance to the Ethereals but they tolerate them because they draw the eye away from their own organization. However, the Creva’llc are a successful group. Doc may seem crazy but he has a brilliant mind underneath it all. Nothing is without purpose kind of thing.

Karthen and Lores

General History of Lores and Karthen

Since the beginning of mankind, there has always been a division of powers. The most obvious is that of Magical Folk versus Non-Magical Folk. This has become a well known division within the human race. However, few remember the division within the Magical folk. Once upon a time, there had been a distinct difference between the abilities of those with magical distinction. The group had been divided into five sub-categories: Time, Elemental, Creatures, Mental, and the Darkness.

However, as time passed these different groups blended together and eventually appeared to die out. Their skills and lore appeared to become lost within the passage of time and many people seemed to have forgotten about them entirely. Within the world, it appeared that only small sections of each of the lores remained and were taught.

Before the five lores were completely lost, five people who still followed faithfully to their lore banded together. Working together, they found and compiled all the lore they were able to find that remained within the magical world. This done, the five were at a loss on what to do with the information they had strove so long to compile. Until, one made the suggestion of putting it to use for future generations. The idea of a school surfaced and became reality.

The school would collect those strongest in the particular lores and teach, along with the standard curriculums, the teachings of the lore magics. They would bring the five lores back into the world with the students they taught. At first the school was sparsely filled but as the years passed, turning into hundreds of years until a century had passed the school built up, accepting over a hundred students yearly until it became what it is today.

Karthen Academy was originally located off the coast of Ireland. At the time, the school and grounds had been magically hidden away from Muggle eyes. However, disaster struck the school in the form of nature and the area the school had been located in was flooded. However, the school did not close but was merely moved to North America where is has been located for the past few hundred years. The school is still magically hidden from muggle eyes and is located near the Great Lakes, it's exact location still largely unknown by most.

The Academy accepts students from all over the world, largely for the fact it is one of the few, maybe the only one, that teaches the Five Magical Lores.

Five Lores and Karthen's Houses

Aphildellian

The house Aphildellian is most renowned for the magical lore of Time. The house is home to students who have shown a strong ability in the time lore and gifts. The lore of time is not merely an ability over time but also understanding it. Members of this house have a strong connection to time, however with the passage of time over the years, those in this house have very limited control over time. They can control it to an extent, such as stopping it or even seeing into the past, present, or future. However, very few possess one or even few of the abilities those in the past had possessed.

Founder: Dellian Aphril

Dellian was the last strong time witch of her time period. With her, died many of the multiple abilities in that of time lore. She was a formidable woman with strong ideals. She was not afraid to speak her mind and do what needed to be done. Many believed her to set the lead of the Founders of the school.

She was born of the high social class. As she grew up, she was admired as a beauty of the social period. From the beginning, she had a confidence that was rarely seen in a woman. She knew what she wanted and she knew how to attain her desires. Her parents expected her to marry, however Dellian never married within her lifetime, although it is believed that she had a lover throughout many of her later years in life.

Time Abilities:

- Seeing

-- The ability to see within the past, present, or future. It is extremely rare for someone to possess the ability to see two or all three. Many have only the ability to see into one if they have this ability.

- See into the Past [Time Limit, how Much can they see?]
- See into the Present [Time Limit, how Much can they see?]
- See into the Future [Time Limit, how Much can they see?]

- Control

-- Those with this ability are also limited. Some may be able to slow time down, some maybe able to stop it completely, and some may be able to speed it up. However, like seeing very few possess two or all three of these skills.

- Slow time Down [For How Long?]
- Stop time completely [For How Long?]
- Speed time Up [For How Long?]

- Understanding

-- This is probably the least noticeable of the abilities. Those with this skill do not control time but merely have an understanding of it. Many find this ability under valued. In understanding time, they are the most to become teachers and helpers in those who have abilities. Understanding, they know how to help the seers control what they see and even can tell when someone with control is stopping, speeding, or slowing time.

- Understanding in General, not including sensing when Lore is being used.
- Knowing when Time Lore is being Used

Carendeen

The house Carendeen is most renowned for the magical lore of the Mind. The house is home to students who have shown a strong ability in the mental lore and gifts. The lore of the mind is one of the more controversial lores. Those with Mental lore had a variety of abilities that they were able to possess. This disturbed many people, especially those with the gift to read minds or even force control over a person via their mind. However, very few possess one or even few of the abilities those in the past had possessed.

Founder: Renden Aredarc

Renden was for the majority of his life time a Ministry until he joined up with the other four founders to compile the Magical Lores. Renden would use his Mental lore to help the people who came to him seeking help in their troubles. He was always considered a kind and considerate man by those who knew him.

Unlike Dellian, Renden was not considered a handsome man. With his large stature, he was considered more bulbous than handsome. However, his personality more than made up for his looks, making one think of a kind grandfather figure in his later years. Renden never married and during his time in life, he was not the only great Mental Lore wizard around.

Mental Abilities:

- Reading

-- The ability to read the minds of people around them. In the past this was one of the skills that people feared secondly, next to control, of the Mental Lorests. However, even now the reading skill is watered down. Most people with this skill can only read a person's mind for a limited amount of time or they may only capture a an image, hardly enough to be completely intrusive. The remaining ability under reading, is the ability to communicate between minds, however this is restricted to only being to send one's own thoughts.

- Read a Person's thoughts [For How Long?]
- Catch an Image from a Person's mind [How long? How many images?]
- Send one's Thoughts to Another's mind [Not reciprocal]

- Control

-- The ability to force a person to do what the controller wishes. Next to reading, this is the most. People did not like the idea of their actions being controlled by another. Those with control abilities maybe able to control a person's thoughts or actions. However, they may also have control over inanimate objects. Like with Reading, these skills are only for a brief amount of time.

- Control a Person's actions [How Long?]
- Control a Person's thoughts [How Long?]
- Move Inanimate Objects [How Long? How large of Objects?
- Project Thoughts into another's mind [How Long?]
- Project Images into another's mind [How Long?]

- Understanding

-- The final ability of Mental Lore. Understanding. People with this ability tend to have a keener understanding of another person. They can't read minds or control another person, instead they tend to pick up the mood or feeling of another person.

- Understand a Person's Emotions
- Understand a Person's Intentions

House Statistics:

- Colors: Green and Black
- Mascot: Balancing Plate Scales
- Location in the School: Mirror Wing

Meditarin

The house Meditarin is most renowned for the magical lore of the Elements. The house is home to students who have shown a strong ability in the Element lore and gifts. The lore of the Elements is one of the more opened lores. Those with Elemental lore had a variety of abilities that they were able to possess. Like the Mental Lore, this disturbed a few people knowing that people had control over multiple elements. However, very few possess one or even few of the abilities those in the past had possessed.

Founder: Tarin Medicin

Tarin was a weather wizard. He had control over all the elements, however he chose to focus many of his skills in the weather, which actually incorporated all of the different elements. He usually worked in foretelling when large storms would hit or bring water to drying farm lands. Tarin however never did things without thought. The elements, the weather in particular, are very unstable at times with much that could go wrong.

Upon meeting Renden in one of the travels, Tarin learned of the goal of the founders and he found himself drawn in and joining. Tarin was opposite of Renden in built, being tall and lean, his skin will weathered from the sun. He is a strong character and usually one looking into the consequence of any action they may take. His dealings with the weather playing a large role in this.

Elemental Abilities: Abilities Apply Singularly to one Element [Earth, Fire, Wind, or Water]

- Control

-- The ability to control one of the elements. The ability of control is restricted by many factors. First off, one may only have control of one element. The control over the element will be limited and weak, depending. Those with this ability may either be able to create their element or mild control of existing element. Elemental Lore is one of the more expansive groups with the amount of things one may have control of in their element.

- Create Element in simplest form [Water, Dirt, Fire, or Wind]
- Move Element in simplest form
- Move anything with element in it [needs some sort of restriction]

- Understanding

-- The ability of understanding is the ability to know how their particular element acts. One may know how the earth feels to be dug into, why the wind blows a certain way, or just plain prediction of the characteristics of their element. They have no control over the element, just the ability to read it.

- Understand Element in pure form
- Understand Element in Nature [Earth being dug into, What wind says or brings with it, and etc. BE SPECIFIC!]

Sulphus

The house Sulphus is most renowned for the magical lore of Darkness or Absence. The house is home to students who have shown a strong ability in the Darkness lore and gifts. The lore of Darkness is not merely an ability Darkness but other Absence, of destruction. Those of Darkness lore had been able to destroy things at a whim, hide within shadows, and create shadows. However, very few possess one or even few of the abilities those in the past had possessed.

Founder: Sapress Phillius

Of the founder, Sapress was born the lowest and the poorest. She made her life on the streets and surviving. Many who were street children rarely made it past the age of seven, however, Sapress made it a point to survive and with her Darkness Lore she was able to and to pull herself out of the gutter.

Sapress probably has the worst rep among the founders. Before joining them, she had been a prostitute, the only occupation she was able to acquire a street child. Her life laid in prostitution until a change meeting brought her into the path of Renden Aredarc, who took the fallen woman under his wing, at least as much as she would allow him to. Sapress had a firey temper with a sharp tongue to match her changing moods. She had beauty to match that of Dellian but her personality lowered her in the esteem of many.

Darkness Abilities:

- Hiding

-- Hiding is the ability to hide within the darkness, within shadows. The ability is rather basic. With this ability one is able to bend shadows to their whim to hide either themselves or something else. However, these hidings are limited to a time limit that is rarely very long.

- Hide in Shadows [How Long?]
- Hide things in Shadows [How Long?]

- Shadows

-- The ability to create or manipulate shadows. One can either cause something to be shrouded in darkness they created for a certain amount of time or they may cause a shadow to change its shape or opacity.

- Create Shadows [How Long do they last? How big of shadows?]
- Manipulate Shadows [How much? Make darker, lighter, bigger, smaller? BE SPECIFIC!]
- Cause something to completely disappear into "shadow" or "abyss" [How long does it last?]

- Destruction

-- The most dangerous ability of Darkness. The ability to destroy. Those with this ability have the power to destroy. The ability has been limited to small inanimate objects and in very rare circumstances to small living creatures.

- Destroy something Partially [How large?]
- Destroy something Completely [How large?]
- Destroy something Living [How large? VERY RARE]

House Statistics:

- Colors: Indigo and Silver
- Mascot: Black Fire
- Location in the School: South Tower

Vertigophus

The house Vertigophus is most renowned for the magical lore of Creatures. The house is home to students who have shown a strong ability in Creature lore and gifts. The lore of Creatures deals with controling and understanding Creatures on the planet. However, very few possess one or even few of the abilities those in the past had possessed.

Founder: Titan Vertiphus

Titan was the last to join the founders. He worked as a researcher and using his Lore as the center of his research. He would work to understand the different creatures and protect them from those that thought to abuse the various creatures of the world. Titan joined the founders when two of the established founders, Tarin and Dellian, were seeking someone who was strong in the Creature Lore. Their search lead them to Titan's name. It was a year after they contacted him that he joined them in their endeavor. No one knows what Titan did during that year before joining them.

Of the founders, Titan was the most silent and reserve. He rarely spoke and only to clear up any subject or to bring a point up. Titan became known as the outcast founder due to the fact he was normally on his own and away from the others. The other founders had trouble relating to Titan and often left him to his own devices.

Creatures Abilities:

Creatures Lore is broken into Animal or Plant, these abilities apply to one or the other, not both. The category Animal can be broken down further to just Birds, Mammals, Reptiles, or other sub-categories of Animals, but not all animals. Likewise, Plant is also broken down to Trees, Flowering Plants, Vines, and various other sub-groups.

- Control

-- Those with the ability of control are able to either control an animal, or plant, for a brief amount of time or they are able to offer suggestions to the animal, or plant, where the creatures feels a strong desire to do the suggestion but they still have control over whether they do or not. Also under Control is the ability to communicate with a creature but this is restrict to being able to ask the creature something without knowing what is going through the creature's mind.

- Control Plant/Animal [How Long? What type of Plant/Animal?]
- Suggest to Plant/Animal [How strong Suggestion? What type of Plant/Animal?]
- Communicate (one way) with Plant/Animal [What type of Plant/Animal?]

- Understanding

-- The Understanding ability ist he ability to understand a plant or animal's needs. Those with this ability may either be able to read and understand the creature's mind or understand what they need without reference to the creature's mind.

- Understand Plant/Animal needs without connection to mind [What type of Animal/Plant?]
- Understand Plant/Animal needs with connection to mind [What type of Animal/Plant?]

Recent Events

The Ethereals had attacked globally, attacking schools of important and government establishments all at the same time. Many places fought back, but many places fell to the attack of the Ethereals. Karthen Academy was one of the schools attacked and who had fought back with tooth and nail. However, the school ended up being destroyed in the battle. As the school fell, a few staff members gathered the surviving students and moved them out of the school.

The surviving Karthens crossed the Atlantic Ocean, lead by the Deputy Headmaster Marcus LeBlanc. LeBlanc, familiar with with Wrencroft, traveled to Hogwarts, which he had learned was not under the control of the Ethereals. There, he and Wrencroft spoke until it was decided that the two schools would merge. Hogwarts would continue to the goal that was Karthen's, to save the Lores from falling into extinction. However, it would not be an easy task. With the destruction of Karthen went all the information that was collected on the Lores. What remained of the lores was basically in the books today, which didn't really amount to much, and what the remaining Professors brought back with them in their minds.

However, with the merging of the Karthen students in to Hogwarts, there is promise to be controversy between the Hogwarts students and those of Karthen. There will be hard feelings and distrust of the Karthens, who prossessed abilities that the students of Hogwarts didn't have nor ever knew of.
