Although a `northerner` by upbringing, I have always been fascinated by the South, by its climate, the vivid tropical colours and the brightness of the sun. Luckily I had a chance to live in Puerto Rico for a couple of years. I was fascinated by the brilliant colours of the Caribbean. Although I was quite busy bringing up our 3 girls, I
	found the occasional minute to sketch some of the breathtaking surroundings of this tropical island. A short break in Germany was followed by 15 years on the tiny tropical island of Bahrain in the Arabian Gulf where I found more time to attend to my hobbies. After trying out water colours, I found my love in oil painting where I could use a stronger combination of colours. Back in Germany, I discovered acrylic paint with all its exciting possibilities.     Now that the children are living their own lives in England, Italy and Scotland and the husband is quite busy at the bank, I enjoy very much this wonderful hobby of painting.
