The Break Room Chat Room

Dispatchers with access to America OnLine are encouraged to join us Monday nights 2000-2200 EST in the Conference Center at Public Safety America (Keyword: PSA) for moderated chat sessions.

You will have to register for access to that specific area, first, and the process can take up to 72 hours before you can get into the Conference Center. Also, and unfortunately, PSA has to charge extra from its members, so anyone who hasn't registered by August 3rd, 1998 will have to authorize AOL to charge an additional $9.90 per year for access. (It works out to about 3 cents a day). Don't dispair; the PSA is not "just chatting;" there are many forums and libraries in this special section within AOL developed just for public safety personnel.

However, if you are not an AOL member (or you are, and you don't want to do anything more than chat with other dispatchers), you can meet in a room created just for us on TalkCity. If you have downloaded an IRC chat client such as mIRC or PIRCH, you can Add the TalkCity server to the IRC server lists and join us in #911Comm.

There aren't any scheduled topics or times, right now. Just feel free to make meetings with other dispatchers there! And ya never know; I might just pop in occasionally, myself.

Now, if you're a WebTVian or you don't have an IRC chat client, but you've got a JAVA-capable browser, or you can still access the same room by using the form below. I specifically set up TalkCity access to a "channel" for us so dispatchers with WebTVs can meet others with PCs.
