Mondo Grosso
Mondo Grosso, is a band formed in Kyoto in 1989 with Shinichi Osawa as the band leader and bassist. Osawa and various vocalists and collaborators - ranging from  Monday Michiru, Bird, Jhelisa, N'dea davenport to Tania Maria and Ed Motta- produce some of the most stylish acid jazz, house, and R&B made in Japan during the '90s. He released his first Mondo Grosso material during 1992-1993, including his self-titled debut album on Japan's For Life imprint. Its globetrotting flair (indebted to American disco and R&B, acid jazz, and brazilian samba) lead a vanguard of mature Japanese dance music.
