My beautiful Mitzi came to me in August 2003. Her owners had bought a condo where they couldn't have animals so after 11 years of faithful service she was unwanted. I happily took her into my family and the rest of the crew accepted her almost instantly!

We had three good months with Mitzi as she played and basked in the Autumn sun then one day she stopped eating, an Ultrasound revealed cancer spread throughout her internal organs, the prognosis was to put her down. I refused. I hadn't yet spent enough time with this beautiful and gentle old soul. I took her to my Holistic vet who said he couldn't cure her as her cancer was just too far advanced but she could buy us some extra time with her! We started treating her with Chinese herbs and Vitamins. Within days she was eating again and in no time was doing two to three miles walks daily. Mitzi would remain with us for another energetic 5 and one half months before she died in my arms at home on Monday morning March 15th.

Mitzi radiated a very gentle demeanor and touched all who met this gentle old soul. In her short time with us I came to love her dearly, her passing left a huge void in my life. Her absence also affected my other dogs who were not themselves for quite sometime. They all had grown quite attached to Mitzi.

Mitzi, please know you are still with us and that we loved you dearly.
