  • SOMETHING FOR A FINAL TOUCH

A friend of mine manufactures decals for the gauges. They are very HIGH QUALITY and add a very unique touch to the interior of  the car. I have installed them on the car that I am currently building. The application was a breeze, granted, I still haven't installed the dash in my car yet. Even with the dash in the car they shouldn't be too much trouble. The three center gauges are very easy to get at  with the dash box removed. Disconnect the wiring and each gauge has a single 10 ml. screw holding it in. The Speedo and tach are a bit more difficult, dropping the steering column from the dash helps. DON'T FORGET TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST !

  • Restoration Tips

  1. The Nuts and Bolts of it all.

So, what do you do about nuts and bolts and all the other little bits and pieces ?. Rusty and dirty nuts and bolt are a fact of life. At best trying to replace them all is a pain in the ass. Standing at a bench grinder all day is no fun either. Find yourself an old rock tumbler at a garage sale or buy one new, they aren't that expensive. Chuck in all your rusty bits and pieces just make sure all the grease and oil has been cleaned off. Toss in a few handfuls of sand and some anti-freeze and let them tumble over night.  Works great takes off paint as well ! rinse off in the morning...instant new nuts....is that nuts or what ?

  • Are you thinking about restoring or buying a "Z"

The thing about rust and what to look for.

WARNING!!!!!!!!!.......... Got your attention yet?..........................The  below link contains pictures that are OBSCENE and should not be viewed by the following....................Z owners who live in warm places where it never rains and the only thing salt is used for are Margaritas...............You know who you are..............People who drive fibreglass cars made by General Motors.................People who think they know how to use "Bondo"...............Or.....People who are offended by the wanton destruction of rusted out "Z" cars before they are sent back to Japan to be made into Hondas.

  • Artsy fartsy stuff I did with various programs.

I bought a fairly cheap scanner that came with a photo editing program. I have four such programs but find I only really use two of them. I do enjoy playing around with them. One is good at some stuff and others are good at other stuff. On one of the other pages on this site is a picture of my old car sitting on a hoist in my shop. I painted in the air-dam and grill, blended out some of the dents and cut out the background. What started as just kicking ideas around for a paint scheme rapidly got carried away. What a time sponge computers can turn out to be !
