i have been lost in the world of make-believe for so long - four and a half decades and counting - i think the search parties have been called off long ago! Was i captured by pirates? Did i run off to join the circus? Well.. almost.

  In my other real life, i'm a mother of two lovely girls. My daughters are both college age: Taryn is halfway through her studies at John Carroll University, and Brianna (one of YM Magazine's 20 Coolest Girls for 2003) will be starting Kent State in the fall.

  i currently live in picturesque Conneaut Ohio - almost a suburb of Erie, PA! - with my husband, Terry Sindar and our fluffy black cat, Mama Kali. In the off season, Terry performs at coffeehouses, nursing homes, and libraries; while i leave a trail of beads and glitter behind me everywhere i go, building up stock for the summer season.

  During the warm months, we travel to fairs and festivals in and around Ohio. Terry usually performs as a wandering fiddler or magician, while i keep store. You can be sure to find us at the Fairie Festival near York, PA. every May - follow the bubbles!

  When not on the road, we frequently head out to Geneva on the Lake for summer weekends. This old-fashioned resort attracts families and classic car enthusiasts, and retains the feel of the 1950s. While Terry busks in front of Whip's Magic Emporium, i'm on a nearby park bench, workbag at my side, my long skirts covered in thread, glue, and sparklies. Maybe someday i'll get up the nerve to try out my bellydancing on the Friday night crowds - or, well, maybe not.

  Have we made it over the rainbow? Maybe not quite, but we're both having fun trying. So if you ever feel like vacationing in the land of make-believe, just look for our gypsy wagon (cleverly disguised as a minivan). i'll have the kettle on..
