Glantraeth Football Club was founded in 1984 after landowner Iolo Owen agreed to a football pitch being laid on a piece of his land adjacent to the Glantraeth Restaurant, hence the club's name. Anglesey's own 'Field of Dreams' is idyllically located in the middle of beautiful open countryside within the historic rural community of Trefdraeth, Bodorgan, midway between the villages of Malltraeth and Bethel with stunning views of Snowdonia and situated close to Newborough Forest and the Blue Flag beach at Llanddwyn Island.

Since 1984 the club has progressed from the Second Division of the Anglesey League to Champions of the Cymru Alliance. During that period the pitch has been enclosed and levelled, a 72 seat stand has been built, a covered standing area erected behind one goal, improved drainage has been installed and a changing room block for players and officials purpose built.

In 2008-09 season a canteen was erected on the ground and work was commenced on fencing the ground off from surrounding farmland and laying concrete hardstanding to link up main spectator areas. Further work planned includes improving the playing surface, refurbishing the stand and erecting toilets on the ground.

Visitors are always welcome and a matchday programme can be pre-ordered or sent by post. For details email programme editor, Stan Strickland, at:  stan@glantraethfc.co.uk
