Events

What kind of events can you expect from the GHMC?

Weekly meetings

Weekly meetings are held year round. They are generally 25% business and 75% social.  Official Club announcements are made, members who have subjects on the agenda can make their presentations and then there is a short question and answer period.  This is followed by a weekly general interest presentation. It may take the form of a film, out takes from the latest AMA or FIM race, showing a new type of bike, etc. Generally it will turn into a social gathering at that point.  Meetings last about 3 hours or so (including the social stuff so you don’t have to stay for the whole thing).  This is a members only event.

Sunday BBQ

When the weather is nice, members will be invited to attend a BBQ in Dunnville held about every other Sunday.  There is a small charge.  Members may bring a guest.  This is an excellent opportunity to introduce potential new folks to the club.  The event lasts from about noon to around seven in the evening.  This area boasts some of the best bike roads in the province.

Rides

This is where we meet as a group and show the world who we are!  GHMC will participate in appropriate regional charity rides as well as sponsor our own if there is significant membership interest.

Racing/Track Days

The local and regional motorcycle race schedules will be posted and GHMC will always try to have a presence there.  The club will coordinate members wishing to go as a group (more fun in numbers!). Members interested in actually racing themselves will be encouraged to get their licesnse and as resources permit - we will choose our brightest and best for sponsorship.  It would be great to have our own Team!

Regarding Events and Alcohol

As we are an organization representing the enrichment of the motorcycle experience, there is NO place for alcoholic consumption. This is NOT a debatable issue. We are involved in a sport/hobby that uses precision high speed vehicles both on and off the track. To even consider how we can work booze into the equation only equals one result - TROUBLE.   If members want to rendezvous for a few beers after a meeting or event that’s fine - but it ain’t club time. Off season events (like during the dead of winter) may be an exception but everyone will be cabbing it or have a designated driver.  If you arrive at an event and the coordinators even suspect you are under the influence - your membership is immediately terminated - period.  This all goes for illegal substance abuse as well.  So to sum it up - NO BOOZE - NO DRUGS - NO DEBATE.
