GWA News, Updates, and Rumors

GWA Hiatus (12/1/05)- GWA will be taking a break for a while.  The matches over the last four months will become known as GWA Season 1.  By taking breaks every now and then, we hope to keep ideas fresh.

We are also working on ways to improve the GWA, including:

-Using a new game engine, Smackdown vs. Raww 2006 for PS2
-Implementing a money system for General Maanagers based on wrestler performance
-Restructuring of the website, moving all GGWA Season 1 data to its own separate pages

CRUSADE 2005
(11/30/05)- In Worcester, MA, Homeless John became the unlikely candidate for the GWA title by winning a Six Man Elimination Tournament at the beginning of GWA's November Free-Per-View Crusade.  At the end of the night, he became GWA champ for the first time ever, by defeating Double X in a Hell in a Cell match.

HARDCORE HALLOWEEN (10/31/05)- Howdy becomes the fourth Interboro Champion in GWA History as he takes the belt from Legacy at the October Free-Per-View, Hardcore Halloween.   The Norseman comes up short on his quest for the G.W.A. title, losing to Double X when it mattered most.  The Norseman did not come out empty handed though, as he received Wrestler of the Month honors.

Wrestler of the Month (10/16/05)- Congrats to Legacy and owner Dixon Mason for being named Wrestler of the Month for September 2005.  Also, The Savior was retroactively named Wrestler of the Month for August 2005, when he was still under the control of Roman Greco.  We look to feature a Wrestler of the Month every month based on their performance.  Check out the Rankings section each month for this information.

BRAWL IN THE FALL Results Are In!  (9/30/05)- The second G.W.A. Free-Per-View went off with much success.  Two new Champions were crowned, including new GWA Champ Double X.  Be sure to check out the Results page for all the details.

First ever trade among the Management (9/30/05)- In a shocking trade, Dixon Mason gains control of former Interboro Champion The Savior.  In exchange, Roman Greco attains El Golpe Mortal, a fiesty wrestler on the rise.  As part of this trade, one of Dixon Mason's wrestlers is entitled to a Tag Team Title shot by the end of November.  Check out the current state of the Stables.

First Free-Per-View a Success (9/14/05)- The first G.W.A. Free Per View in nearly 5 years went off without a hitch. No injuries to report even though Double X took 8 principals and recieved stitches.

We have new Tag Team Champs in that of Happily DiNapoli, A new Interboro Champ in that of The Savior & Finally a NYHC champ in that of Jimmy Violence congradulations to all the new champs.

Rumor Mill: The Deal Is Done. That former G.W.A. superstar mentioned has inked a contract and is expected to debut on television this week... who could it be?

Talks have been going around the head office about recruiting more females in the G.W.A. with The Management sending it's recruiters out to local indie shows anything is possible.

SPOTTED!: In Toronto Canada recently Jimmy Violence (man he gets around) was seen with none other then Frodo Baggins himself Mr. Elijah Wood. Rumor has it that Jimmy met Elijah when they both paid a visit to the set of the movie based on Jimmy's life Prior to the G.W.A. starring Viggo Mortensen called "A History Of Violence" which is due in theaters soon.

Joe Rudland and The new Tag Team Champions Happily DiNapoli at the Fiddler's Elbow over the weekend having a few rounds and showing off the Tag Team gold. All were said to have been great sports signing autographs on there off time.

First Free-Per-View Event (8/30/05)- The Free-Per-View Matches are set!  The evening is set as follows:

GWA: Back To School 2005

-Corporate Stiff vs. Roach (The Back Rub Match)

-The Oz vs. Aramis of Doom (First Blood Match) "After declaring a personal war against the world, The United States in particular last week Aramis of Doom set his sites on The Oz a business owner and bottom rung on his ladder of domination. However, after losing to the Oz Aramis demanded a rematch and added the stipulation of First Blood. Can Aramis take his war to the next level?"

-Load vs. Jimmy Violence vs. Homeless John vs. Mr. Rabies vs. El Golpe Mortal vs. Howdy (NY Hardcore Title: 6 man, 30 minute brawl) After Mr. Perez announced the NYHC title would be crowned in a Brawl at the FPV he had no shortage of takers, Six men enter, one man leaves the new G.W.A. NYHC champion, who will it be?"

-Hardware & Bri-2-K vs. Mikey Rowboat & Kiki vs. The Norseman & Delilah (Tag Team Title: 3-Way Torando Tag Ladder Match) "This feud has boiled over ever since the Reunion show last month when Kiki pinned Delilah and she took exception. The Norseman and Mikey Rowboat got dragged into the mix and now V.D. are forced to defend the title against, not one but two tag teams in this possible show stealer of the night!"

-The Savioor vs. Bobby Idol (Interboro Title Match) "Savior/Idol 2: After the bloody match that ensued when these two last locked horns no one knows what to expect from these men tonight. Esp. since Bobby's title is on the line, I'm sure Savior would do ANYTHING to take that belt."

-Main Evennt: Double X vs. Mr. Hardcore (Last Man Standing GWA Title Match) "It all comes down to this. Last Man Standing, after years of a bitter rivalry Mr. Perez agreed to this match to finally settle who the better man is. Mr. Hardcore claims Double X want's to be him, claiming XX took everything from him and now want's the title as well. Double X just wants to shut up Mr. Hardcore for good. Who will walk out of school the G.W.A. champion?!?!"

Rumor Mill: A former G.W.A. star has been spotted leaving the head office on Bainbridge Ave. Sources close to the star say that He is close to inking a deal if he hasn't already. Could this past star shine bright again? and if so will he be ready for Back To School?

The G.W.A. has sent out some feelers to local shows to scout for talent, can new stars be debuting on the horizon?

SPOTTED!: Jimmy Violence and Former WWE Star Shannon Moore seen leaving a 7-11 in Nashville TN over the weekend. Our reporters followed them to none other than TNA Headquaters. Is Jimmy jumping ship?!!?

Legacy, Double X, Hardware, Joe Rudland, El Golpe Mortal, Bri-2-K, Roach, & Bobby Idol at the Dudes Of Doom show this past friday at Wild Spirits on 1st ave, all were said to be nice and signed autographs and posed for pictures with some fans after the show.

Joe Rudland, Mikey Rowboat & Kiki At Papa Johns Pizza on East Tremont on saturday. They waved but didn't stop, they seemed lime they were in a bit of a rush.

GWA Back in Business
(8/9/05)- After a 4 year hiatus, the GWA is back in action.  August 9, 2005 marks the renewal of the GWA.  There are some new features this time around, including a brand new GWA engine.  We now use Here Comes the Pain for PS2, which is light years ahead of what we could ever do in the old GWA engine, No Mercy for N64.  The website has been completely revamped as well.  The roster is smaller, but that just means more important matches.  No more bloated rosters, just the best make the ranks of GWA2.

Website Updates (8/9/05)- Please be patient as we get the website back in order.  Keep checking to see what updates have been made.
