Company H, the Hempstead County Rifles of the 3rd Arkansas Infantry, photographed in Arkadelphis, Arkansas, in June 1861.  Regimental commander was John R. Gratiot.  Armed with a mix of weapons, this regiment was severely damaged in its only battle at Wilson's Creek, after which it was reorganized and redesignated.
