Third Brigade

Brigadier General Adam Rankin 'Stovepipe' Johnson, 1834-1922.  Indian fighter, Texas surveyer, and businessman before the war.  Captured a Union force at Newburgh, Indiana, in the summer of 1862, using a stovepipe mounted on a wagon to mimic a cannon.  Led a brigade in Morgan's Ohio Raid the following year.  Accidentally shot by his own men in August 1864, permanently blinding him in both eyes.  After the war he was a successful businessman, founded the town of Marble Falls, Texas.
