CATCHING TIPS

  1. Plan your trip fully, check the weather conditions for the area you will be fishing.Be sure to pack for the conditions.Nothing spoils a trip more than not being prepared for the weather changes.

  2. When fishing clear shallow water shorelines stay back as far as possible so as not to spook the fish.Make under hand or side arm cast so the lure makes a quite entry in the water.

  3. During hot days, bass frequently can be found under matted vegetation ,where the water is COOLER.
Swim a spoon, weedless frog,or rat imatation over the top.If a bass misses one of these lures, quickly cast a plastic worm into the same spot and expect a strike as the worm decends.

  4. YOU should fish with the sun in your face so as not to cast shadows on the water, but this is not always possible.Try to cast ahead of your shadow and fish the back side or shaded side of the structure.
  5. BASS DON`T ALWAYS GO DEEP DURING HOT PERIODS OF SUMMER.OXYGEN LEVELS REMAIN HIGH ON CURRENT-FED LAKES AND RIVERS ,AS WELL AS WATERS THAT HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF VEGETATION.CURRENT AND VEGETATION INCREASE OXYGEN IN THE SHALLOWS,SO BASS DON`T HAVE TO MOVE DEEP-- AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU.
  6. I HAVE FOUND WHEN FISHING WITH SOMEONE ELSE
AND I AM IN THE BACK OF THE BOAT, THAT IF THE OTHER GUY IS USING A SPINNER BAIT OR OTHER FAST MOVING BAIT AND NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK. THEN I FIND I DO WELL WITH A SLOW FALL FLOATING WORM OR LIZARD.IT CAN BE HARD TO FISH A SLOW BAIT WHEN THE OTHER GUY IS FISHING FAST,BUT IT CAN BE DONE AND WILL PAY OFF.
  7. When the water level is dropping, look for bass on secondary points of creeks or main lake ledges. If the lake has large grassbeds, bass can be found along the weed edges in the deeper sections.
