  Quake II

When Quake appeared on PC it was definitely better than Doom, its main rival. Doom had great action, gameplay and it was a good challenge. Doom was a 3rd person shooter, but what Quake II offers is the same awesome action and gameplay, but this time you have more freedom, you have to watch out for enemies above and below your character, the weapons, were brilliant, mainly because they were so, so powerful. They are similar to Dooms weapons, you get a pee shooter (pistol), and the more explosive weapons; the shotgun, the double shotgun, but a few have been replaced, there's no punch, and they have changed the BFG (Big F**king Gun) to a Rocket launcher. But there still brilliant.

The game has loads of levels, and there are plenty of puzzles to get you thinking, then there's the monsters you'll see or walk into, this gives all the action you'd want.

The game can be tense at times, with not much music the game is silent, the, all of a sudden a big monster appears in front of you. You can use a mouse with the game, WHY?, well the PC version used a mouse to look around, and it work brilliantly, much easier (and cheaper) than (buying) a controller. So they added the capability to the PS version. This is the best 1st person shoot em up game on the PS, and with the soon to be launched PS2, there's also a possibility of seeing Quake III on the new machine.

Brilliant four player action and endless full on action, it is. THE BEST10/10
