Well-Hidden Items

Some target treasures in Thief can be almost impossible to find. So here's a little list of where to look for the most tricky of them!


Cragscleft Prison: On expert mode, Felix's Notes aren't in the evidence locker. They've been stolen by Naaman, the escapee. You will find Naaman's corpse in a small sewer which you can reach from the lobby before Cell Blocks 3 and 4 - the hole in the wall to your right as you enter the lobby leads down to these sewers. As well as the Notes, there is a key, some treasure and some moss and water arrows.


The Bonehoard: To get the Mystic's Soul gem, you must enter the large chamber quite near the Hammer vault and light all the torches with Fire Arrows. Avoiding the zombies, go down the hatch that's opened, and arrive in a room with the gem on a pedesal. Make sure to stand to one side when picking it up, since it activates a lot of traps.

To get the Mystic's Heart gem, on Expert mode, climb up the ladder at the top of the ramp near Felix's corpse and get past the Burrick at the top. You will be in a deep shaft with lots of thin walkways with purple shots regularly being fired. Descend the shaft, walkway by walkway, until you're at the bottom. You must then cross the marbled floor without ever stepping into the firing line of the statues, and at the end fight a Haunt. The blue chest holds the Heart.

If you want extra power-ups, collect all the Golden Bones in the Halls of Echoing Repose, then drop them into the tomb in the Hammer Vault, beside the Holy Water fountain.


Assassins: Ramirez's silver fire-poker can be found by crawling into the fireplace in the large bedroom on the upper level. Inside, on the wall to the left is a switch which opens the back of the fireplace and leads to the poker.


The Sword: On expert level, you need to find some information on Constantine. There is a silver key to the left of the bed in the room on the first floor with the two gemstones in front of a face that fires purple shots at you - the key opens the door in the greenhouse downstairs which leads to the evidence.


The Haunted Cathedral: The Serpentyle Torc is inside a guarded mansion which can be reached by climbing up the wall by the drawbridge and then walking along the wall and the (raised) drawbridge, and going through the door.


Undercover: To get the Talismans, you must pull five levers within a 5-minute time span. The levers are:
1) Look up while in Brother Mason's tomb.
2) Look up while standing under the parapet beside one of the trees in the garden.
3) In the treasury room.
4) Beside the rack.
5) Behind the pedestal in the reliquary with a skull on it.

You must then go to the Talisman room while carrying the Hammer from the High Priest's room. Cross the bridge, pull the lever, then enter the talisman chamber and read the 'Wallbuilder's Prayer' scroll which you find in a room to the right of the main hall.
