BREEDING
|
|
Since we are primarily a
training facility, we are very particular about our breeding program. We
usually only have 2-3 litters per year. All of our brood females are
titled hunt test dogs, or at the very least, outstanding gun dogs with pedigrees
to back them up. We breed to top-producing studs whose pedigrees
complement those of our females. We are always happy to get one of our
puppies back for training, as they are bred to get the job done and are second
to none.

Pups are whelped indoors and remain living
inside with us until they leave for their new homes. On days 3-16 of their
lives, they receive early neurological stimulation, which stimulates different
parts of their brains and is said to aid and accelerate their development.
We believe that the daily touching of each and every pup increases the bond to
humans, and from our experience, pups given this stimulation are generally
bolder and do things at an earlier age. |
All of our pups are introduced
to live birds and to water (weather permitting). They begin swimming at
around four weeks of age--they begin going down the steps of the pool, and
before you know it, they're swimming! They are generally better
swimmers when they start at this early age.
Pups usually go to their new
homes at the age of seven weeks. By this time, they have had their dew
claws removed, their first set of shots, two wormings, and two vet check-ups.
All of our pups come with a full health/hip/eye guarantee.
