Updates 2005

March 16, 2005. Eric Roberts will be a presenter at the "19th Annual Genesis Awards" produced by the Humane Society of the United States. The awards honor "outstanding individuals whose works have spotlighted animal issues with courage, creativity and integrity." The awards ceremony will actually take place in Los Angeles on March 19th but will be taped to air May 14th as a two hour special on Animal Planet. Among those who will also be presenting that evening are animal lovers Stockard Channing, Ed Asner, Nicollette Sheridan, Alicia Silverstone, David Duchovny, and many others.

February 3, 2005. Elma sent me to MTV to see Eric in the Mr. Brightside music video by The Killers. If you have a Windows computer, you should be able to play the video. Can't make it work on a Mac but Elma reports that it was filmed in an actual bordello in Nevada and, she says "Eric is as incredibly handsome and suave as ever."

January 8, 2005. The subject of Biography on A&E Jan. 12 is Dorothy Stratten. Eric played Dorothy's husband, Paul Snider, in the 1983 movie Star 80. Eric appears on this show in an interview and in clips from the movie.

December 12, 2004. Eric has been busy this month. He was on The Ultimate Toy Awards, filmed Nov. 18, aired on NBC Dec. 4 and the rerun on Dec. 5 on PAX TV. The episode of Celebrity Blackjack that was supposed to air Nov. 23 has been rescheduled for Dec. 14. Eric and Julia were pictured in the Dec. 13 issue of the new entertainment and celebrity magazine Life & Style for a story on the birth of Julia's twins.

November 11, 2004. The intense low budget indepedent film Intoxicating has been held over for a second week at the Edwards University 6 in Irvine, California, after a strong opening weekend. The film is playing at the Loews Beverly Center, AMC Rolling Hills 20 and Edwards University 6 through Thursday with Edwards (Regal) holding the film over already.

November 5, 2004. If The Last Shot is playing in a theater near you, be sure to look for Eric. The film Intoxicating is only playing in Los Angeles this month but look for it when it plays in a theater near you.

October 25, 2004. Eric's Official Web Site is back up and running! The new web pages have been updated and have a neat, streamlined look. I was glad to see that the flash fade-in that sometimes gummed up my computer is gone. Please visit the new web pages and leave a message for Eric in the Forum. He is reading our messages. If you are new, you will have to register to leave a message (don't worry, it's easy). If you have already registered, you may have to register again for the new Forum.

October 15, 2004. Emma will be on the David Letterman show tonight! Fri. Oct 15th.

October 11, 2004. It looks like Eric's official web site is under construction again. Why do they take it down to do improvements? What improvements are they making? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

August 22, 2004. Angela is writing a web page with behind-the-scenes information on Eric's new movie Graves End. She has already posted a photo of Eric and the director of the movie and promises to give us more informatio soon.

August 11, 2004. Eric is on the game show Balderdash this week on PAX tv. Here in New York it's on at 8:30 p.m. but check your local tv listing for the time in your area.

August 2, 2004. Bryan Michael Stoller, the director of Miss Castaway, says that Steller Entertainment is considering making the movie available exclusively to Michael Jackson's fans first, if the demand is great enough. They plan to include never-before-seen behind the scenes footage of Michael on the set of Miss Castaway & the Island Girls plus some surprise footage as well.

Please email Bryan at filmfun@earthlink.net and tell him that Eric Roberts fans want the movie, too and we want never-before-seen behind the scene's footage of Eric!!!!

July 23, 2004. Eric is in Los Angeles this week filming a new horror movie, Comedy Hell. The movie involves a serial killer who is butchering comedians who have been hired to work at a comedy club. Sounds like an extreme version of Last Comic Standing! Eric plays the local Sheriff who is hot on the trail of the serial killer. Thanks to Mr. T for this news.

Eric was on E!News on Wednesday evening (while I was still at work - Boo hoo!) in a report on his daughter Emma's new TV show. He is, of course, very proud of Emma who is apparently both cute and talented.

June 27, 2004. I have good news and bad news. The good news first -- Less Than Perfect has been picked up for a third season and Eric is still in the cast, although he will still not be on every week. The bad news is that, effective Friday, August 6, 2004, Less Than Perfect will air in the Friday 9:30PM-ET/PT time period and this will be its new time slot for the fall tv season.

Eric has been busy supporting charities for horses and other pets. On April 28 he and other celebrities attended the Best Frinds Annual Lint Roller Party to benefit the Best Friends Animal Society. On June 19 Eric attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Buddy Hacket Singita Animal Sanctuary which will be southern California's largest privately funded no-kill animal shelter.

June 1, 2004. Eric is on Hollywood Squares this week! See your local TV schedule for the time it is on in your area.

Eric will be an uncle when Julia's twins are delivered early next year.

Eric has spent the last couple of weeks filming the movie Grave's End in the castle on Hwy 9 between Ben Lomond & Brookdale, California. I don't think that the movie is based on Elaine Mercado's ghost story with the same title because that was set in a house in Brooklyn, not in a castle in California.

May 7, 2004. The cartoon Geppetto's Secret is scheduled for release by the end of the year. Eric is the voice of Jack, the magic hammer. May 1, 2004. Six: The Mark Unleashed will be released both VHS and DVD on June 29 but it has already been shown at a film festival and you can watch the trailer.

April 26, 2004. Alessandra sends us links to web sites with the most photos of Eric on the Web.

April 23, 2004. The current issue of Variety has printed a review of the movie Intoxicating and the reviewer, Robert Koehler, has given the rest of the movie an only so-so review but says "Roberts stands out in a fine, nuanced portrayal of that rare movie drug dealer who considers the feelings of others."

Break a Leg was shown yesterday and again today at the Worldfest-Houston Film Festival. Miss Cast-Away was also shown. Hunter Todd, founder of WorldFest, told the press that 500 films were entered and "400 of them should never have been made." Most of the films chosen for competition in WorldFest are never again be seen in America after the festival closes. I don't know if Eric made it to Worldfest since he and Eliza just returned from Italy and his new movie Forbidden is filming.

April 18, 2004. Happy Birthday to Eric!

April 10, 2004. Eric was on Pyramid (game show) on Friday, April 2, but, by mistake, I didn't tape it. There are two short clips from the show on the web a the Pyramid web site. Eric is supposed to be on Pyramid againd on Thursday, April 15.

There is also a video clip of Eric and Eliza at the VegTV web site. You must have RealPlayer to watch these video clips.

I just found a web site that I haven't seen before. It is by Alison Gordin, a professional make-up artist who worked on Eric's face for the movie Fugitive Among Us.

March 31, 2004. Eric must have had so much fun on Hollywood Squares that he decided to do another game show. He will be on Pyramid Friday, April 2, WOR-NY, and again on April 15 playing against his Less Than Perfect co-star, Sherri Shepard.

March 17, 2004. Another new episode of Less Than Perfect aired last night and Eric wasn't in it. He wasn't on last week either. Email the ABC Audience Relations Department at netaudr@abc.com.

March 15, 2004. Eric will be on Hollywood Squares this week, March 15 to 19. He will be on again May 31 for the Hollywood Squares charity show where contestants play to give money to charity.

March 2, 2004. Eric will star in The Exonerated at the Furst Center for the Arts in Atlanta, Georgia, from March 23 to 25.

February 10, 2004. Eric Roberts and Carol Kane will star in The Exonerated at the Fisher Theater in Detroit, Michigan, from 3/2/04-3/7/04, and Lynn Redgrave will appear with Eric Roberts from 3/9/04-3/14/04.

January 31, 2004. Famous author and photographer, James Spada, has just written a new biography of Julia. What do you mean, Julia Who? The publication date was supposed to be Feb. 9 but I got word that my local Barnes & Noble store already had them on display so I just ran out earlier today and got mine. I haven't had a chance to read it yet but I've taken a peek at the index and there are lots of pages about Eric and the Roberts family. Possibly the most info about Eric that's ever been in a book. Check back here later for my review.

January 30, 2004. In February Fox network will air the premiere of Celebrity Spelling Bee. Many celebrities are scheduled to appear including Eric. The show is set to air over three Friday nights starting Feb. 13.

January 10, 2004. The Official Eric Roberts web site is back online!
