The Frodsham Silver Band has been together since 1907 when it was then called the Frodsham Subscription Band. The band concentrates mainly on engagements which are needed to fund the band, so we only have time to do a couple of contests a year. We always do the Whit Friday contests where we came 3rd at Greenfield last year. Rehearsals take place every Monday and Tuesday night starting at 8.00 and finishing at 9.30. The Tuesday night is thought of as the main rehearsal, where all players are required to attend, the Monday night is more of an extra practise, sometimes used as sectional rehearsals before a contest. The Junior band holds its rehearsals on a Tuesday night from 7.00 to 8.00. As with the main band, new players are always welcome. The address of our band hall is Frodsham Silver Band Hall Green Lane Frodsham Cheshire WA6 Frodsham is situated in the North West of Britain, about 10 miles away from Chester. Along the main street of Frodsham there is a pub called the Bears Paw, our band hall is behind there. |
