Music

My listening taste extends mostly toward alternative and pop music with odd tendencies toward country (well, some Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain) and recently (and randomly) Christian crossover Pop/Rock (Jars of Clay, Sixpence None the Richer) and I'm not even religious.

I'm big fan of radio, though I'm not really into the stations I've discovered now that I'm in LA. In the Bay Area I like listening to like listening to ALICE (Sixpence None the Richer, Vertical Horizon), LIVE105 (Incubus, Pearl Jam), KFOG ("World class rock"--a little bit of everything), KFRC (Oldies), and Z95.7 (Top 40). And of course KALX (the UC Berkeley radio station). I pretty much vacillate between Star 98.7 (like Alice, but with WAY more 80s), KROQ (like Live105), and KIIS FM (like the Z).

I watch MTV, but mostly just to witness what a short-attention span mindsuck it has become (become?) with really lame personailties and its target audience of 14-16 year old girls. The Real World (and only sometimes) is the best thing about the channel. MTV2 is great because it's all videos all the time with no stupid shows. And VH1 is pretty much the greatest version of TV crack out there--horribly addictive, but sooo good.

I've devoted a little space to some of the bands I like best from yesterday (oldies) and today (everything else).

And check out my page on my favorite band of all time:
Here, There and Everywhere: The Beatles, the leaders of the first British Invasion in 1964.

Confessions of an Oasis Fan: I'm also a big Oasis fan. I know, I know. Sometimes it doesn't seem worth the stress.
