What is the Educational Talent Search (ETS)?
The Talent Search program was created by the Higher Education Act of 1965 and is funded through the Department of Education. The Research Foundation of SUNY College at Brockport locally sponsors Educational Talent Search (ETS). This early intervention program helps young people to better understand their educational opportunities and options.

The ETS program currently operates in four
Rochester City School District schools: Franklin High School, Marshall High School, Charlotte Middle School and Douglass Middle School.
Educational Talent Search is part of a group of programs known as  TRIO . TRIO programs help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers. Over 302,000 Americans are enrolled in 319 Talant Search programs nationwide. Thirty-nine percent are white, 36 percent are African-American, 16 percent are Hispanic, 5 percent are Native-American and 4 percent are Asian. Sixteen-thousand (16,000) TRIO students are disabled.
