    Introduction

    Welcome to the Endive web page - where you can find out all you need to know about your favorite (c'mon, you know you like 'em!) band ever! But, in case you just stumbled meaninglessly about and wandered onto this page, you might be asking...

    Just what exactly is Endive?

    Endive is Central NY's hottest teenage rock group. An all-original group that incorporates Punk, Ska, Light rock, Hard rock, and Hardcore into their original material. They are on the higher class of the Ithaca and Cortland rock scene playing shows with the likes of high end bands Bent Peg, Patchwork Down, the Loiters, and Rompa Room. Endive also shares the bill with other teen bands such as Shelter, 0-60, Earl's Garage and others. Endive is a highly energetic band with an incredible stage presence and a great live show. Endive is not a group of amateurs!! Endive has been doing serious gigging for about four years now and can definitely pull their own weight. An easy way to put it, Endive sounds like all the styles mentioned above all thrown into a blender and purred to their liking. They play all styles. In fact, when Endive first started out, they would often throw in old 60's surf tunes to keep the oldy drunkards in the crowd happy.

    So now you know that Endive is the band to be listening to, you might ask...

    What exactly is an endive?

    Endive is the lettuce that is used to dress a fancy plate of food. It tastes horrible as Justyn found out one day while in the grocery store (just kidding!). Now, the metaphor for why the band is called Endive is because, in the local music scene, Endive is not accepted that well and usually have fairly inconsistent crowd numbers. So in some aspects we may look good with our fancy equipment and our onstage antics (like endive) but no wants to "taste" or listen to us so hence the name Endive, a band that gets thrown away!
