This mysterious forest is shunned by most inhabitants of Hyrule, mainly due to the legends that tell of strange transformations that will afflict any non-fairy being who enters it. Although the truth of this legend has not been established, it is certain that any explorer unfamiliar with the terrain could easily be lost forever in the forest’s endless stands of trees.
The Kokiri are a race of fairy folk who inhabit the Kokiri Forest. Cautious and secretive, the Kokiri believe that they will die if they leave the protection of the forest. Though they appear to be children, the Kokiri are actually ageless, and never grow old. Each Kokiri has a guardian fairy that functions as a friend, parent and teacher.
