I am decended from Johannes Jacobas Eckhoff, a Dutch Sea Captain, who emigrated via Californian and Australian Gold Fields before arriving in 1840 in Dunedin,Otago,NZ, along with 30,000 other rather boitrous hopefuls. He sailed around the coast of NZ and

My father is Otis G. Lillard. His parents were Asbury and Pari Lee Lillard. He was born just outside of Waco, Texas. Asbury's brothers also settled outside of Waco. Most of them are buried in the Rosenthal Cemetery. My dad is 89 and doing
great. His mother was somehow related to General
Lee's family. All of her sisters were given the name Lee. Her dad was a doctor in the Civil War.

My family came over from Holstein County, Germany in the mid-1800"s. I know very little about them except that they were farmers in Northern Germany. My grandfather Henry Eckhoff was born in Iowa and moved to Bridgewater, South Dakota (near Sioux Falls).

My grandfather's name was John (JT) Hickey, he met my grandmother in Texax and they later married in Mt. Ida Arkansas about 1924. My mother Mary Alice Hickey was born in Raton, New Mexico in 1926. We have searched for any information regarding him or his
amily and have never been successful. My mother never knew her father and never knew anything at all about her paternal ancestors. My mother said he was born in Oden Arkansas and was raised by an aunt but who really knows! He was said to have died in 1929
as my grandmother received a letter stating he had passed away, there were no details. He was said to be working on a dude ranch as a cowboy and had contracted a (social) disease and because he was afraid of passing it to my grandmother he just left the a

My father & his wife have done extensive searching into surname Schweers, and found our lineage to Dinklage, Germany. Perhaps in Germany there is some relation? The furthest back he was able to find is: Johan Hinrich Schweers and wife Anna Maria Kurre,
irthplaces and dates unknown, who had a son, Franz Anton Schweers born in Dinklage, Germany, September 24, 1800. One segment of our Schweers family also ended up in Texas, after some time in Cincinnatti, OH, where they natrualized.
