Puttin the hammer down

Charging to a silver medal finish at the 2001 OR State Time Trial Championships

I have been involved with bicycle racing for the past 14 years, entering my first race at the ripe age of 16. Currently I am a licensed as a USCF Cat 1 on the road. Some recent results include:

Silver Medal 2001 WA State Road Race Championships
Bronze Medal 2001 WA State Time Trial Championships
Bronze Medal 2001 WA State Stage Race Championships
Silver Medal 2001 OR State Time Trial Championships

I have been formally involved with coaching teams and individuals for the past 3 years. Currently, in addition to adult clients I am the Junior Coordinator and Coach for the Wheelsport Cycling Team.

My background includes a BS in Human Biology from Western Washington University as well as attendance at numerous coaching seminars and clinics. In addition to my formal training I consistently search the literature for cycling specific training information - see Literature Archives. It is this current literature, that I feel has provided me with the most comprehensive and insightful knowledge possible. These scientific and medical journals provide an analytical examination of the sport of cycling. They are able to take the anecdotal nature out of coaching and replace it with facts and data that can only help bring success.
