About Ebonhaus Rottweilers
We purchased our first Rottweiler on 14 December 1985. Her name was
Torlube Lady Sheba “Ebony”.We bought her through a friend of a
friend not knowing anything much about the breed other than the fact
that Ian desperately wanted one.We showed her for a year, never
winning a blue ribbon unless noone else turned up. After a year we
came to the conclusion that perhaps she was not really of show
quality. We enjoyed the showing as a hobby we could do together so
decided to buy a boy who would be a better example of the breed. We
looked for quite a while, buying all the dog magazines and checking
out advertisements. We saw an ad for Westobri kennels in S.A. We
contacted them and after a long story we ended up buying Kedmore
Tortara Ryland “Jet”. He developed into a wonderful show dog winning
many blue ribbons against stiff competition. We decided that Jet
needed a girlfriend so we ended up buying a bitch from similar
lines,Abakahn Gembar Crystal “Crystal” and we rescued a bitch called
Austwala Eldora “Dora”.
We bred our first litter under the EBONHAUS prefix (named after our
first special girl) in 1989.
We have bred 22 litters to date and have owned or bred 16 Australian
Champions. The highlight was breeding Grand Aust. Ch. Ebonhaus
Golden Gait “Zuess”.We have owned 4 New Zealand imports and have
recently imported a dog from Northern Ireland in partnership with
our friend, Monica Moore (Mondallin Rottweilers).
We are actively involved in the Dogworld. We are members of the
Rottweiler Club of Queensland (Ian-President /Deb Show
Sec),Queensland Kennel Council (Ian-Vice President), Dog of the Year
Sub-Committee ( Deb-Secretary) and Ipswich Kennel Club
(Ian-President/Deb- Secretary).
Being involved in the Judges Training scheme we are always
stewarding, writing or Show managing. We have Group 6 Open Show
licenses and Deb is soon to complete Group 7.
At present we own 17 Rottweilers, many of whom are old and happy to
live out their lives on our 13 acre property at Lowood in sunny
Queensland. |
