Theodora is the keeper of this lovely garden, where Beatrix Potter-type rabbits play. Normally, azaleas and nightshade are in full bloom from Mid-April through July, but our little faerie manages to keep it in a state of perpetual bloom year round. Scurrying along the paths here and there are little rabbits, and countless butterflies playing skyward.
In the center of this garden is a pristine lake surrounded by trees and plantings which look as though they have been there for millennia. Vivian, the Lady of the Lake, may be seen cavorting around its shores, especially in the early morning mist.
Other floral residents are flowering cherry, crab apples, mountain laurel, and hydrangea. Here and there are clumps of cattails, lowbush blueberries, and bunchberries. Wintergreen, underfoot, forms our carpet.
A large weeping willow tree suddenly appears with a lily pond under its branches. In the middle of the lily pond is a wishing well, which can be reached by stepping ligtly on little stones between the lily pads. Stop now for a rest--and if you have any special wishes cast them into the well with a flower petal. Don't forget to close your eyes when making your wish!
